One of the best domain buys I ever did was a domain I purchased by emailing an end user who had the domain.
This was not a domain listed for sale or part of any brokerage, just an end user who no longer used the name and was happy someone is even contacting them. I did this for a specific project, and lately I have been thinking more in those lines and wondering if my success was a one off or is this a method that is worth spending time on? It is not that easy to find real good domains that are just sitting there and not already owned by a domainer etc. however, it is still possible.
Anyone here do this actively? Any tips ?
