Anybody own a blogging system?

I'm looking at developing a site based around the blogging trends and I'll need a blog system to use for running the blog(s). Therefore I was wondering if there is anyone here, or anyone you know of, who owns (and is the creator/coder of) a good blogging system.

I'd be looking to talk the idea over with this person and see what would be feasable for the site etc.

If you can help let me know the url of the blog system and a way I can get in touch with you/them (preferably IM (MSN, GTALK)).

Well in that case I would need someone who is very familiar with the software in question as I need to integrate the software into a custom control panel (sort of thing).
