Any wine drinkers out there?

I've gotten on this Red Wine kick lately.

The problem has been that I've tasted too many that aren't to my liking.

Any recommendations?

I'm not partial to any Country (Australian, France, etc).
I'm not partial to any type (Bordeaux, Burgundy, etc).

Obviously, I'm still in the experimental stage and am open to any suggestions.

It needs to be a wine that I can purchase at a Canadian Outlet and something for $20 or less a bottle (I assume there are many in that price range that would satisfy me).

Thanks in advance,
ST

Red wine is horrible for headaches, I stick to beer :)

So far I've read posts from: a white wine drinker (close), a Crown Royal drinker, and a beer drinker.

Applicable responses, if there are any, would be a welcome change.

I'll start a fun poll so that all who enjoy a little nip now and then can be heard.

Hmmmm,

Scott,

Have you ever tried Cabernet Sauvignon or a Merlot? (RED WINES)

Both are very good.

Also, the majority of Chardonnays are very nice to the taste buds :p (WHITE WINE)

NOTE: Oops, sorry, didnt see you just wanted red wines :guilty:

I have tried a Merlot. The one I tasted (can't remember the name) I didn't care for.

Thanks for the relevant post.

White wines are much more likely to lead to headaches since they are sweeter and contain more sugar. Vichon or Blackstone Merlot and Louis Jadot Beaujolis or Beaujolis Village are a few of my favs.

Beaujolis or Chablis..mmmmmmm yummy :)

btw - if you want to avoide headaches, just drink some water before or after you've had wine and you'll be fine. That way the wine won't dehydrate you as much.

Do you drink your bread with a straw, or straight out of the toaster? :hehe:

Most French wine is excellent, of course, but I've been trying the ones from California recently, and they are excellent!

You can also look for a decent Spanish wine, you can pick some of them up for under $10.

Try a few different ones, and while about half wont be nice at all, the other 50% are extremely nice, and extremely cheap. Thats how spanish wine works :guilty:
