Hey
my dads old laptop stopped working so he told me to backup his files for him to his new windows 7 laptop. I took out the old hard drive and plugged it into the new laptop and tried copy pasting the files. However it turns out windows 7 is an annoying piece of shit. I run linux on my computer so I never have to deal with this crap!
I wonder if anyone know how to get around this?
Basically It wont let me copy the files directly, it says that I need admin rights, "click continue" button appears, then it says something about going to "security tab" and then manually assigning the ownership to the logged in user.
NOTE that I am the only administrator/account on that laptop!!
On vista there was an option to completely turn off UAC but it seems 7 just has the option to hide the notifications, which doesn't help at all!!
I have about a MILLION files and folders to copy, and I cant manually assign ownership to each and every one of them like that!!
