Hi all, I've noticed a few around here and other forums that use annoying avatars, and here's help.
GET RID OF THEM
-they won't so, you can..
If you use Firefox, get Adblock Plus addon(free), then rightclick the annoying avatar, then choose Adblock image, and hit OK.
Avatar never to be seen again, save those eyeballs

I was planning on some horror avatars so that it would work as a scarecrow and scare the small kids away [Maybe 8 years old ones] :D

I thought clowns scare the kids and scarecrows scare the crows. ;)
I am talking about Horror stuff :D I never knew clowns were horrifying :D

There WAS someone with one of those roach-crawling-around-the-screen avatars, that was -slightly- annoying. Not so much I'd block the thing, but hey, I also didn't throw a huge hissy fit when Latona took over the board with bright colors, so maybe I'm just not that easy to annoy.

Nice tip though. You can also just set your browser to not show any images. And if websites with any kind of personality really irk you, download the lynx text browser:

:p

Hmm .... A members avatar is like a personality badge. They reflect moods, celebrations, support etc. I would never block another members avatar.

Although I would like the option if objectionable avatars were permitted.

Actually, I can't stand the high pitched squeal that comes out of my wife when she sees a kitten avatar (especially one in a freakin' frog costume), so I'm gonna go ahead and block yours.

Good tip but I must say that I've never been annoyed by an avatar.

Maybe some people are more easily annoyed than others? lol

Nope, not at all. LOL  You've had that avatar for a while now weblord. I'm not sure it any avatar would ever "annoy" me, or not yet at least, and I've been on the forums for a while now. I actually kinda like the avatars that move around and are more creative.

Am I losing my mind or didn't you used to be able to hit the "stop" sign on your browser and stop animations? Whatever happened to that?
