Hi,

I bought a good number of domain names that refer to the google android platform for mobile phones and I am interested in knowing who has been following the trend.

I have around 200 domain names (all .com) that refer to the android platform which are parked and have just recently started to see some revenue from these domains. In one of the cases, the a free application was created and put a website for it was made on the .net that corresponds to one of my .coms; I have received about $60 in revenue from fabulous so far for this domain (from January until now).

I am wondering if there is a wider trend and if any Domainer has been following it.

Thank you very much

Unfortunately, if you are making money off someone else's trademark (in this case, Google), you run the risk of having your domains taken away in a UDRP and possibly being sued.

Although "android" in itself is a generic term, it sounds like you're using it to make money at the expense of Google.

Now, if you would be using these terms for a sci-fi site, you would be fully protected, but, of course, monetization possibilties would be a lot less.

You just have to decide if the significant risk is worth it.

That Might be True if that was the case, although you are assuming I am using Google's trademark (or someone else's), which I am not. I don't want to make this thread about intellectual property because there is a place for that in this site, and this is not it. Search for android software and many of them have names that imply they are for android but don't have the word android in them, although many of them use the "android" word. I am not a lawyer and won't like to discuss that in this thread either.

So, I make my question again, is there anybody following the android trend? Any body have android related names?
