Not so long ago, i reged a .com domain...for use. But before i had finished developing a friend told me that my domain was worth something, at this point I didn't care. But this put a thought in my mind. So I headed over to GoDaddy.
here i noticed that .info domains were mega cheap! I knew that they weren't of any value...but i went ahead and reged a few (mebs 5-6). I quickly flipped these and made a fast $ or 2. This was so easy and so exciting! So i started buying more, soon i realised that .info although cheap just wern't right for me, and .com have no interesting ones left i find.
So I moved onto newer extensions... .me mainly and the odd .mobi . I know these also are still of little value but i really do think im hooked on this domains malarkey.

This is shown by the fact that i reged a couple of domains just because i was surprised they hadn't been taken not because i even wanted them (these were JOKED.ME AND OWED.MOBI btw)

I need domain nicorett i think :P

you definitely need to read a lot of Namepros to understand which domains have value and which don't, otherwise a year later and with $2000 less than now you will regret ever getting hooked :)

Jojo, firstly, this market is not a hard and fast science, that is rule No. 1.

Secondly, the rule I always apply when regging a domain is 'do I see how such a name could be developed?' If so then there is a chance someone else will, if not then why would I think someone else would?

Thirdly, read around, and when reading think about what your reading with reference to your own 'world knowledge and experience'. This will let you see how domains are/could/should be used and bringing together the two aspects could lead you into profitable investments.

Finally, never ever think you know it all, let me assure you there is not one domainer in the business who is not surprised at least once a week by news of a domain or website sale that is reported.

Welcome aboard and keep on reading!

A better idea to make money than register info, me and mobi.

Red 9 on a the roulette wheel. It's only 37-1. That's better odds than registering and selling info for profit.

This isn't a joke either. It's realism.
