Doh!!! I woke up this morning to check my email and not to my suprise a company asking for a name... I got this email from a small firm asking me to releinquish a domain to them. What is very interesting, they claim to represent Microsoft!$*? - One question... their website looks like a 13 year old made it? www.richardlawgroup.com I see they are real lawyers and have filed UDRP's sucessfully, but would Microsoft hire such a small firm in Texas? Anyhow I don't really intend on keeping the name so its not really an issue. This email is not the first time I have recieved such a letter, so it is not unexpected. I specifically dont use private registration, that way if someone has a problem with my registration they can contact me to resolve the issue. So far this has prompted companies lawyers to be lenient with me (In debt anyway sue away!) if I agree to turn over the name in a timely fashion - they have all offered a small amount of money, sometimes more than registration fee. I always decline the money and turn the name over before the deadline they specify. Just about everyone has a TM domain name, these are my experiences and I just wanted to share. Most of the people buying names are new to it and buy all kinds of TM names, it is always best to avoid it if at all possible, but I bought the name when i was first starting out and it was about to expire in a few weeks. (Yes I have only been doing this for a year-but I am addicted! Probably about 4 hours every day since December 2005. About 6% of 2006 spent on domains! About 25% of my awake time! Its amazing I still have a whole other career and a girlfriend still!)
