Maybe I'm doing something wrong. I need to sell my site, and quick. I've read a bunch of articles on the do's and don'ts, but I am having no luck. I am getting ready to go overseas to support the war in Iraq, and my wife won't have time for it by herself. I don't want to go through a broker because they charge an arm and a leg. I have the site listed on buysellwebsite.com, an ad on my site, as well as numerous forums, and random free classifieds. The site is www.elitebags.net. It's making great money, there's little overhead, but I don't see why people aren't nibbling. If there is ANYONE out there who could help me out, and maybe give me some tips on what I should do, I would appreciate it!!!

P.S. If this is in the wrong section... feel free to move it. I just didn't know where to put it... lol

Everything is included... Domain name, registration, business cards, supplier info, good customer base, software, etc. Everythign is dropshipped, so there is no need to keep stock whatsoever. And whatever stock we do have at the time will be shipped.

How much profit/revenue on average per month (and proof)? How much are you looking for? Any traffic stats (with proof)? How long have you been running the site for?

We are now averaging about 2-3K/mo and close to 2500 unique visitors a month. (have proof for everything) We're looking to get 18K from everything. We have only been running the site for about 6 months now though.

is that revenue or profit? I am assuming revenue so if it is how much of it is profit each month?

hosting needs? as in bandwidth a month, size, etc...

Daily effort level?

No, that isn't revenue. That is profit. If you keep with the current host, there should be no problems whatsoever with bandwidth. I'm using about 5GB/mo, and my host allows up to 45GB/mo. That, and I'm only paying $10/mo for hosting. The entire site with images and all I believe is around 200-300MB. I might be a little off on that though. The host does allow up to 1GB storage though. My host is Jaguar PC.

The daily effort level is about 1-2 hours, depending on emails and sales. Once I get the forums going, I'm sure there will be more though...

Interesting. I checked out your site, and have to ask: are you getting any flak from the original manufacturers? Your TOS looks very defensive.

As of yet, no. And I don't think that I will. I've checked with some local boutiques in my area who actually sell them in their store where anyone can go and look at them, and gotten some advice from them. I can understand where a lot of people don't want to get themselves into something like that because of how defensive the TOS is. But a good question. I was hoping not to field that one, just because I know a lot of people are offended by that.

Your on the right track, just keep telling people about it. It's just hard to sell a site 'fast' for 18k.

I know. The biggest problem I'm running in to is a deal with financing. I know I can't finance a site. If I get asked if I can finance, do I just tell them no? Or is there a company that I can go through that can turn this "financing" into cash for me and they can make money off of the intrest?

Awesome site, makes me really wish I had 18k to spare. I would assume any collection agency could do that for you.

Now, how do I go about finding one to finance a 3rd party and give me money for it, or have me turn the financing over to them? Just search online? This is all way too confusing to me...

Think if I put it up for auction here starting at 15K, anyone would bid?

You could also list your site at sitepoint's "sell your site" forum. It costs $10 but the forum gets pretty good exposure so I think it's worth it.
Also, what turned me off in you listing was this:

Your actual profit will depend on how much mark up you place on the items. So, if you sell an average of 50 items a month, mark them up by $50-$60, you will earn $2500-$3000/mo! Site upkeep requires less than an hour a day! The site has already been submitted to over 3,000 search engines! This service costs almost $400 to do and has already been done for you!

Such marketing BS is used for crap sites that don't have any profit and their owners try to entice potential buyers by talking about the site "potential".
Instead of using the blabla above, just list your profit for the last 6 months and I'm sure you'll get much more people interested in your site.

You have a great point. I can see where you are coming from. Thanks for the advice, I'll go ahead and change the description. What if I haven't been online for 6 months yet? Any suggestions there? Just list the total profit from the time we've been online?
