Am I doing something wrong?

Greetings.

When I try to post some new information to my sales thread it doesn't make a new post. It adds to the original post instead, turning it into an edit. Trying again results in a message saying that I'm attempting to post a duplicate message that was posted in the past 5 minutes.

I've gone thru the same thing several times now. I am definitely posting a reply and not editing.

Can anybody help me?

Are you waiting long enough between posts, I'm certain there is a time period before you can create a new post in your thread after your own post, not sure what the frame period is mind you. I believe its to help prevent over bumping of ones own thread.

That makes sense and I understand why such a time limit would be in place.

I think it has been about 8 hours since I posted the thread. Do you know what the time limit is?

I was just going to post some information regarding a question that somebody asked me by email. It was about trades and was information that any other interested parties would want to know also.

[edit] My dumb mistake. I found it by reading the rules. 24 hours.

Multiple Sales Threads / Bumps. Please be reasonable and FAIR with the amount of Sales threads per day. Gratuitous self *bumps* are limited to one per 24 hour period. . We want to make it as fair as humanly possible to ALL NamePros members.

I think you are talking about the hack recently installed at namepros by which if you post immediately after your own post, the text gets appended rather being a new post
