AI Shift? Washington Post Cuts One Third of Staff

1770296771487.png

If you care about journalism, the news out of Washington D.C yesterday probably made your stomach drop. One of the most legendary names in the business, the Washington Post, announced it is cutting a staggering one-third of its staff. Imagine looking around your workplace and knowing one in three colleagues won't be there soon—it's brutal. This isn't just normal corporate belt-tightening; it feels like a desperate pivot. It's a stark admission that even a giant like the Post believes its future survival depends less on human reporters and more on integrating automation and artificial intelligence, regardless of the painful human cost. More Interesting analysis here...

Thanks Tully. I appreciate your response. it clear indicates the quality issue of news reporting. Do you think other prominent media houses will follow it particularly from US and other parts of the world?

Thanks, Tully. Humor aside, these layoffs reflect deeper structural problems in legacy media, including factors not visible to the public.

No Ai Shift and No Structural problems, they just Fired all the Employees that have been working for 60 Years in the Washington Post, yesterday I read the article on other site, I even saw pictures of the Exworkers and they are just very OLD people, they dont want those old people to die in the Washington Post Offices, thats all, its a Preventive decision to avoid legal problems and future Tradegies and Scandals.
