Grounds for suspending or revoking a domain
While we want lots of .ai domain sales as it raises significant money for The Government of Anguilla, we do not want any scammer domains tarnishing the reputation of Anguilla or ".ai". If people know of scam sites in ".ai" domains please report them. The Government of Anguilla reserves the right to remove or suspend any domain. This is usually due to one of the following or similar scamish actions:
  1. Anything that would be illegal in Anguilla
  2. porn that would be illegal in Anguilla, like child porn, revenge porn, etc.

Based on the adjustments made to the second rule, it has been clearly stated that general pornography websites are allowed to register under the .ai domain. However, there's a specific clause that grants the authority the power to suspend any pornographic content they deem objectionable. This decision is subject to their judgment and can vary on a case-by-case basis. In particular, the inclusion of the term "etc." at the end of this rule leaves the door open for a wide range of interpretations. Essentially, this 'etcetera' serves as a catch-all term, suggesting that the rule is not exhaustive and could encompass any number of things, depending entirely on the decision-makers' discretion. This flexible approach means that what is considered objectionable can evolve over time, without any need for formal rule changes, allowing those in charge to react swiftly and according to the circumstances at hand.

This sparks a debate within the online community and amongst website owners, who argue that such ambiguity in the policy can lead to inconsistent enforcement and could unfairly target certain types of content or creators. They fear that this broad discretion might be used to suppress free speech or to arbitrarily decide what is and isn’t permissible, without clear guidelines or transparency in the decision-making process. Despite these concerns, the authority maintains that this flexibility is necessary to navigate the complex and ever-changing landscape of online content, ensuring that they can safeguard users from potentially harmful material while still fostering a space for freedom of expression.
