Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Afternic landers aren't working since last evening.

The testing service you're using does not pass the "real human" checks that Afternic implements. You can reproduce this by making a request without any headers, e.g:

Bash:
$ curl https://forsale.godaddy.com/forsale/example.com
<HTML><HEAD>
<TITLE>Access Denied</TITLE>
</HEAD><BODY>
<H1>Access Denied</H1>

You don't have permission to access "http&#58;&#47;&#47;forsale&#46;godaddy&#46;com&#47;forsale&#47;example&#46;com" on this server.<P>
Reference&#32;&#35;18&#46;3e61c117&#46;1786862170&#46;9497b7a
<P>https&#58;&#47;&#47;errors&#46;edgesuite&#46;net&#47;18&#46;3e61c117&#46;1786862170&#46;9497b7a</P>
</BODY>
</HTML>

Visiting forsale.godaddy.com/forsale/example.com will work in your browser.

Can anyone check a random large scale domain, and test checkout if you have wire payment option? Seems Godaddy has a serious lack of payment options for buyers ... If you don't give people a way to pay, how can they checkout? 2 payment options credit card, and paypal? It's 2026... Crypto, Bitpay, Google Pay, Apple Pay, Payoneer, Wire etc...

Look at Dynadot Payment options, then look at Godaddy Credit card, or Paypal which is like 2010... you guys got to fix this.

Have we ever been given a reason why fast transfer sales are so slow to payout?

Consistently seeing 7-day payouts on FT names and usually next day payouts for non-FT names.

We are all talking to ourselves here, afternic has left the room, and looks to gone solely ai, given how fast they are stalling out transactions now, and how the thread has turned into a Sedo like support chat.

Here I’ll play pretend support until these guys get back from their 3 month vacation.

Some partner agreements like netsol etc allow them 7 days to pay, the other internal fast transfer ones usually have to be synced by an agent manually which usually happens around 8-9 pm est the same evening, or Sunday evening if they miss Friday/Saturdy. Those usually pay out much quicker.

Can you still sign into your Afternic account, or is it now all code-based?

It's getting quite irritating to try and respond to offers and each time I need a security code, and there is no Afternic sign-in option given. And it's the same process over and over and over each time I go to Afternic.

Yep, got to spend 1-2 mins of your life waiting around for a unique code every time you do a price update, life is precious every minute counts.

I think that the Afternic brand might not be long for this world, as you now get a "Log In with GoDaddy" link below the security code request.

Either that, or the Afternic IDs and passwords were compromised, so they cut off the log in option.

Afternic's sales have plummeted by 80%. Have you noticed this situation? I am considering whether to continue using Afternic's sales page DNS

Wait till it plummets to 100%
What this company does to investors is sad.
Be like me, list your names and toggle on, not for sale. Pappy never get another dime from me.
Where is the finger puppet?
Waiting for sum one to say nice things?

Sales are always sporadic, but I'm wondering why lander views have been abysmally low lately. More aggressive bot filtering, Indian ISPs blocking Afternic ns (known issue) and/or what? (and yes I know that lander views/visits are pretty irrelevant as such, but I'm interested in overall changes)

Thank you for bringing this up.

I'm experiencing a ~60% decline in sales as well since the beginning of this month.

What's particularly interesting is that the percentage of sales coming from other marketplaces this month is noticeably higher than usual, despite using Afternic Nameservers. This makes me suspect that buyers may be experiencing difficulties with the Afternic lander or during the checkout process.

Is anyone else seeing a significant change in sales this month at Afternic or other marketplaces while using Afternic Nameservers?
