By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

Of course, let's bolt even more risk coupling and cross‑department interdependency onto an ecosystem that already buckles under trivial load. This is the same organization that spent months drifting between GoDaddy teams to diagnose a single Afternic lander checkout / GoDaddy "added to cart" latency that sat at 30 seconds. I still have no idea whether that embarrassment has been fixed in any durable sense. Anyone?

For domains registered at GoDaddy, your agent can now check and update your nameservers to point them to Afternic. This comes alongside full lander management for all domains.

Embarrassment? GoDaddy? If you set the bar incredibly low AND really don't care, it's easy to completely bypass embarrassment.

I would really like to opt-out from the Portfolio Agent. I don't want any chance of anything "intelligent" making rogue changes to my portfolio, as well as I would prefer not to see the floating button everywhere. Please add the option to disable it, @Afternic @GoDaddy.

Excellent suggestion. But I'm increasingly convinced that opting out will only be allowed if you're paying for the highest‑priced GoDaddy DDC tier, the one specifically designed to turn basic control into a premium feature.

I'm currently unable to list without review "humanaligned" domains because these contain the awful awful word "anal". And I'm supposed to believe that their AI agent is miraculously less primitive?

I miss James.

Trust was eroded many years ago and now sits at almost zero (certainly for me anyway). I think the huge majority of us now have a healthy dose of skepticism for anything GD/AN says/does. Since GD swallowed the likes of AN, Uni and Dan, they have turned it into a zero-sum game: they win while we lose.

I wish that GD would split completely into two entities: one for the registrar and one for aftermarket. Then someone could come along, take over the aftermarket company and turn it into something useful. Of course it won't happen, but it doesn't hurt to dream, does it?...

Yes, a faithful reproduction of an actual chat, no editing (except to censor the domain to example.com).

And for what it's worth, not long after I posted, I received a DM from GoDaddy and provided the conversation ID so that they can investigate, they seem to be paying attention to feedback, just not responding publicly

Have to agree with this. Many exact match domains still do not show in searches anymore so it doesn't make sense to boost if it doesn't improve visibility. Due to this i have turned Boost off.
What are the rest of you doing?

I'm still not clear on the distinction between these three data points:

• Views
• Total searches
• Unique searches

Could you please clarify, in simple terms, exactly what each one refers to?

Absolutely!

Views = direct visits to your Afternic lander
Total searches = the number of exact-match searches of your domain name through GoDaddy search (counting repeated searches by the same user)
Unique searches = the number of individual users who searched for your domain
