Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Anyone else having problems uploading names by CSV file? I tried both "Update" and "Replace" using the Afternic file from my Atom account, but nothing is updated.

I've just uploaded a CSV now and all seems to be working fine here.

Mine is a custom file though created by my own script, have you checked that the Atom-created Afternic file columns match the columns in the example template that Afternic supply?

Thanks. Yes, maybe it is an issue with the Atom file. I will take a look.

I've checked that one for you and it looks okay.

So I'm guessing we still can't pay off LTO's in one lump payment? Like I have 10 out of 12 payments remaining on a name, I still have to go one by one paying 10 separate payments? @GoDaddy I feel like this is a simple fix considering the other marketplaces have had this feature for a while now. Can you look into adding that?

I’ve had buyers pay off early and it says you can do that here:
  • Early payoff
    • If you wish to have full control of the domain earlier than your originally contracted lease you can complete payment for any remaining installments at any time.

Thanks JB - I'm trying to see if you can do it in 1 payment (combine all remaining installments). Right now you can pay off early, but you have to pay 10 separate payments (go through checkout 10 separate times for each invidividual monthly payment - slowly 1 by 1)

My GoDaddy account manager told me a month ago that it is on their priority list. But I guess a small company like GoDaddy doesn't have the resources to implement it quickly ;)

Why doesn’t Afternic display the domain marketplace like before, where everyone could easily browse all domains?

I never even try it
When GoDaddy introduced BOOST, it was turned ON by default. Did you actually turn it OFF at that time?

This was like taking a step backwards! I guess they wanted to eventually charge a premium for the ability to have a Marketplace at Afternic? A Seller's Marketplace should be a standard for any Domain-selling Platform.

Yes, from day 1.
I don't trust GoDaddy, and I couldn't understand why should I pay +5% fee

Other than providing a cheap front-end for sellers to list this domains, Afternic doesn't really exist anymore and all the important backend stuff like searches, brokering, sales, and payments has been incorporated into GoDaddy.

Okay, we all worry about losing sales due to brokers not responding in a timely manner, but I've got one staring me right in the face.

An offer was made on June 3 and I responded a few minutes later. But nothing since.

I just check my email and the buyer is contacting me through WHOIS email and asking what's up, as he's sent several messages but hasn't heard back from Afternic, and is wondering if I'm okay.

I check Afternic and the new updates to the negotiation read:

Email received from buyer

Email received from buyer

Email received from buyer

And nothing else...

Great.
