Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

ok maybe I missed something
but if u seem equally good with closing it as getting in... then why u bother with either?

Because some of the Names will start dropping next month.

I wasn't sure if they can detect that I no longer own them or will they continue to offer them for sale?

Knowing whether the names being sold are owned by the seller or not has never been high on ANs priority list.

Business as usual then.
All I can do is email them as each Name drops, and see if there's any response.

... or at least the part that GD lost 3 years ago!

No, I expected them to ask me questions that only someone with access to the account would know.
Like PayPal's security questions.

My user name & PW are accepted, then it asks to confirm a code they want to send to an old phone number.

To be fair, managing your 2FA is your responsibility.

Security questions can be leaked, socially engineered, or in many cases easily guessed and are a poor security measure. I sure wouldn't want Godaddy giving access to my account to anyone who could guess a few security questions.

My Afternic Account Got Permanently Suspended Without Clear Reason

I was surprised to find my account suddenly locked with the message:
โ€œThis account is locked. Please contact Customer S**New!Click to edit**upport.โ€

I want to be very clear: I have **not violated any Afternic policies**, nor have I received any prior warning, explanation, or request for clarification.

I am a legitimate domain investor and seller, and my account activity has always been compliant with your platformโ€™s rules and standards. Locking an account without notice or reason directly impacts my business, my listed assets, and ongoing transactions.

these types posts historically always end one way.

because account closure for zero reason and thus by error on any platform is basically same odds as lotto win.

True - but I believe I did manage it by updating my Primary Phone Number.

I updated my GD account at the same time and that shows my new phone number as 'Primary' -

but when I wanted to change some details GD wanted to send the code to my Secondary number.

I believe the same thing is happening with AN.

That doesn't seem fair - assuming you "verified" your primary number.

I have twice in recent weeks filled out "Price Request" forms for domains I am interested in. The GoDaddy lander says "Get a price in less than 24 hours". I have not received a reply in either case.

I obviously don't know if the sellers use self-brokerage or Afternic's brokers, but this is not a good buyer experience. I wonder how many sales are missed because of this.

Also, it would be nice to get an email confirmation after filling out the price request form.

I had my check list of sites to update, so I'm pretty certain that I did.

Both GD phone numbers are showing as 'Verified' but they choose to use the Secondary number.
I tried to update Contact Preferences - but this entails a code being sent to my Secondary phone which
is the old number ....

I've explained it all to AN and just waiting for their response.

OK well that does sound like another classic GD bug!

If it's in their system as verified then they should accept it.

I look forward to hearing @GoDaddy and @Afternic response
