Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Thanks, so the way Iโ€™ve been doing it has been the correct way. Just have to wait 60 days

Lot of waiting we have to do, especially domains won at auction stuck at registrars you donโ€™t like. Basically 4 months before I can set up lease to own. 2 months for hand regs if I get them at my preferred registrar
That's the safest bet, indeed.

Note that since recently, Afternic will detect a 60d lock, and ask the buyer whether they want a push, or wait:

I have a name listed on afternic, with afternic landing page at $4,800. If someone searches it on godaddy the price is $5,3xx, I added it to cart and the price went to $5,9xx! Screenshots attached.

This pisses me off as a seller, but as a buyer itโ€™s way worse.

Iโ€™m sure this has been discussed before as itโ€™s pretty major, but I didnโ€™t find the answer why with a quick search. Boost is off in my account, but the same thing happened when it was on too.

EDIT: The difference is due to VAT as @DrJacoby correctly mentioned.

Daddy just filling you all with meat.
I checked your .media and price stayed at $4800
There is a box checked for some kind of logo. Maybe you had that box checked and didnโ€™t notice itโ€™s done automatically by daddy.

Too bad you all like me and Mr. Abdul just flicked that switch and not for sale. For 48 hours. Everyone weโ€™re all in this together. Then we can send a message to daddy and his finger puppets, and see what he has to say.
Cโ€™mon toggle that switch not for sale just eat kraft dinner for a day or two

I checked godaddy and namecheap (they list godaddy names) and both had 4800 even after adding to cart (it added about 50 or something for name transfer). Check if you had some other things in your cart or other reasons.

So he let the domain expire 2 years ago and it's no longer in his GD account, yet it was still for sale (with a $5K BIN) in his Afternic account. And he's blaming GD. :xf.rolleyes:

Getting a pile of new Afternic offers is not always a good thing.

I spent several days setting minimum offer above this idiotic estimated value and idiotic "Why It's Great" column, I manually checked every domain in GD reg path. And now buyers see it even if the minimum price is higher.

Example:

Embeddedfinance.png

This is 6-fig domain. The right buyer will pay at least $100k for this name.
This is not my domain. But I own other names in this niche (Embedded + keywords) and have already received 4-fig and low 5-fig offers for them. And I know what I'm talking about. Apparently the owner doesn't even know all this crap because he never checked GD reg path.
How can a buyer make a reasonable offer for this domain if they see this idiotic "Why it's great" column and idiotic Estimated Value?

Starting today, GD shows estimated value even if the minimum offer price is higher.
So, if the owner will set a $10k minimum price, buyers will still see this crap.

I finally unlisted everything.

I saw that as well and the amounts are sometimes insane and way out of whack with reality - both way too low and sometimes too high for crap names with low BINs.

And I have no idea why GD chooses to place this crazy information 'front and center', as it's like clubbing a seller's legs right out from under him. The only rational answer is to advertise their paywalled Domain Valuation tool.

Can you please for the love of God stop showing auto appraisal value to end users?

I personally think GD is trying to hype their 'pay to play' Domain Valuation Tool using our domains.

Anything for a buck, buck, buck.
