Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

by now its said all over np it is gd plan to destroy domain sales and instead of just grabbing sale fee they want sell all namsa and grab all money. people arent dumb

ps.
u can reg com for same fee no membership in at least 5 places.

u can reg com for same fee no membership in at least 5 places.Godaddy doesn't care about domain investors but only want your money with their commision and lack of innovation .

With their money all they do is buy up innovative domain companies while they find it hard to fix their bugs which people complain almost everyday.

Their decision makers are so terrible they think coming up with terms like "boost" and the newly introduced one will fool people .

It is sad to see some know domain investors will still support this dumb idea and then saying it would help to boost sales .Maybe their sales because, they are raising prices to take more and also add commision to it .

Already moving my names out in batches. So many options out there to choose from that offer less .Com,.org.net,.io and dot whatever compared to Godaddy .

They are not domain investor friendly, they can sponsor all the shows and give away their Godaddy stockings but that is to fool some people and to pad the pockets of domain blogs who can write in their favors because they gain a lot from them.

This is just my personal experience and opinion.

I mostly agree. That said I exported my portfolio list to my GD Account Rep last week. He sent it back to me with updated price suggestions. Almost all were higher than what I had.

Now this is a Godaddy guy that works with Afternic brokers, so we'll see if things are changing.

He's pretty senior and I told him my grips. He agreed.

This new pro pricing seems they realize how they left real domainers and sales have crashed. Clients moved to competition. We'll see if they can pull it off with better service to top domain sellers.

Dear Afternic/godaddy, @GoDaddy
Last week i have been testing many of my afternic landers on google search and i found out nothing indexed by google !!!
This is very important issue need to be taken seriously !!! , I think This SEO issue causing a general decline in sales we all noticed !!
In the past we could see DAN landers indexed and found when we search at google , BUT afternic landers NOT AT ALL !!!
I am not mentioning names of two of competitors landers in the market that in 80% their landers are indexed by google !! Even though this competitors are small compare to the potentials of afternic/godaddy !!

Can you explain why nothing indexed ?? And when you will find solution and fix this SEO issue that will benefit all of us ??

Since I've come across this a few times now in the late night hours, I thought I'd share to see if anyone else has seen this issue with the landers.

These examples are set to Custom Landers.

It's important to note, upon testing, the buttons had zero functionality in this state.

------

Clarification Update: During Custom Lander testing, the buttons did not work at all.

I ticked, tapped & clicked the buttons and the results were the same in all browsers.

I was unable to add anything to the cart, much less proceed to checkout via the Custom Lander.

However, I was able to add names to the cart and proceed to checkout via the BIN Lander.

------

I was able to replicate this in Firefox & Safari on multiple devices and networks.

However, when it came to Chrome, the landers appeared to resolve correctly, but like the Custom Lander, the buttons has zero functionality.

I tested a couple of the BIN landers. While the formatting was slightly off, the buttons had functionality, which meant buyers could add to cart and checkout.

@GoDaddy - What are we looking at here? Another lander in the works or just the results of overnight system glitches?

Kindly clarify this.

Do you mean you were unable to buy/add-to-cart a domain name parked with the Custom Lander but were able to do so with a domain name using the BIN Lander?

This is 100% accurate and I can confirm that within 24 hours of switching my entire portfolio (2k domains) to SAW.com my domains are beginning to get indexed by Google with the SAW context:

Saw.com has assisted thousands of buyers in securely obtaining their ideal domain for their businesses. We would be pleased to help you with your acquisition.

Try "site:domain.com" in Google for domains listed for sale at Afternicโ€”you won't get any results. BUT WAIT. There's an exception: NameFind domains don't seem to have that problem!

Nice, eh!

Now you know why so many sales took place on DAN even during the months it operated under GoDaddy. The DNS was left untouched. At the end of 2024 things changed and that's when SEO went to hell.

Spaceship also provides SEO visibility, snippet example:

Domain for Sale. [***]. Free transaction support; Secure payments; Spaceship reliability. Listed at Spaceship.com. get this domain. Make offer.

Here's what Google sees on Sedo listings:

The owner of [***] is offering it for sale for an asking price of 15000 USD! This webpage was generated by the domain owner using Sedo Domain Parking.

@Afternic this seems to be a big issue and I know nothing about seo.

I believe GoDaddy/Afternic blocks Google indexing crawlers, the same way they block visits from lander capturing software, such as Screenshots.com/DomainTools. These images were available in the DAN.com era but now these tools are getting blocked. Overly sensitive firewall rules? I don't want to believe that GoDaddy did that just to enhance the myth of "registrar path" supremacy.

Bottom line: Not going back to Afternicโ€”not even for a day.

Thanks for the information. Is Saw as restrictive as Atom at their top tier level?

As this is the Afternic thread, I'd like to only compare Afternic and its issues to how other marketplaces handle themselves.

The day that GoDaddy bought Dan was a dark one indeed.

Ever since then it's just been a slog trying to figure out how to duplicate Dan's performance, support and commission rates.

Gee, if only they could have kept Dan's site running exactly as is and just put a GoDaddy or Afternic logo on it in place of Dan's. Nahhh, that would have been silly!
