Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Same commission
15-30%
Hahaha, this seems like a huge joke
Holder self brokerage=reduces workload for Godaddy
However, the holders need to pay extra for this while their commission remains unchanged!
It's like: paying the boss in exchange for hard work

@GoDaddy

The 'Views' column is unsortable due to the overlapping horizontal scroll arrows obscuring the vertical sort control (even when navigating right with the right arrow).

Also, improve usability by allowing users to sort columns by clicking the header text, instead of the less accessible vertical arrows.

and maybe you can experiment and make a bulk search that brings up EXACTLY what is searched for. And your search is still limited to 1000 characters.

"Views displayed contain Request Price, Buy It Now (BIN) & Custom Lander data for the last 30 days."

So why/how has someone or something recently viewed one domain of mine that is not using an Afternic lander?

@GoDaddy

To enhance the Afternic portfolio overview, please add these suggested filters:
  • Extension (only populate with the extensions found in Afternic portfolio)
  • Fast Transfer status
  • Lander type
Leverage the successful filter elements of the GoDaddy DCC domain portfolio overview for Afternic, as well.

@GoDaddy

To enhance LTO flexibility, please introduce down payment configuration, similar to Atom's user-friendly system. For lower Buy-It-Now transactions, requiring a substantial down payment, such as 35%, followed by equal LTO installments, significantly increases buyer commitment and reduces seller risk.

I like it the way it is. I go with only 12 months. Knock on wood, haven't had one fail yet. Longer terms much more risky.

The primary objective of the LTO down payment suggestion is to minimize risk by securing stronger buyer commitment. This is a proven strategy, described by Atom, as well. It would encourage me to also use LTO with downpayment for slightly smaller amounts at Afternic.

Example for a $2,199 BIN price:

This feature has been asked quite a bit. I hope it’s in the works!

We might also lose some buyers that can't make that higher first payment.

There is no obligation to use it. And if you use the downpayment feature, you can set any percentage you like, such as 10% instead of 35% or higher.

Furthermore, if they can't pay such a small amount as an end user, then they are not my target audience.

Big complaints with current LTO is cancellations.

Perhaps you can show the phone number on Custom Landers with BIN prices above $4k-$5k, to begin with.

I'd certainly appreciate that, thanks.
I agree, that is a no brainer! Also run an experiment to see does it work on sub 5k names.

Cost-effectiveness is a critical consideration. Given the high staffing costs associated with phone support for all transactions, regardless of value, a data-driven approach is needed to define a suitable price threshold. Afternic's knowledge of buyer demographics is crucial for this analysis. Afternic's rich big data repository allows for a data-driven approach to phone number display, incorporating numerous indicators beyond the BIN price.

Currently, phone number display is universally disabled on the Custom Lander. This approach lacks nuance and could be significantly improved.

I think the problem is some folks set their time frame too long. I have one I sold on Dan that was 5 years. It was over $8000 for the domain. They are on the last year now, so got lucky.

If we also have the option to do the 12 months, then I'm OK with that.
