Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

seriously tho think about it do we even know for sure and zero dount that every offer or even bin buyer makes doesnt go thru some manual human check and or approval before we get it

Of course it does, and there have been comments to that effect, There is some kind of manual 'check' or 'confirmation' done before we get the offer. So yeah, someone might have woken up yesterday.

About 4 months ago I posted here several issues that led me to disable Afternic Boost & LTO and pointed my entire portfolio elsewhere. Since then I'm glad to say that later most of these issues were resolved and I started enabling Afternic Boost & LTO and re-pointing my portfolio to Afternic Nameservers.

I hope things stay stable and looking forward to more improvements & features to come.

Thank you @GoDaddy & @Afternic
Hi Maged,
We're delighted that you've noticed the impact of our team's efforts in releasing new features and addressing feedback. There's plenty more on the way!

Your original post mentioned self-brokerage and TA - there are some updates coming soon ;)

Custom Lander Suggestion / Question @GoDaddy

For the Custom Sales Lander options that include Make Offer, it seems like the minimum offer amount should be visible.

The Buy Now price is shown. The LTO payment amount is shown. For Make an Offer, the minimum is not displayed.

If someone enters an amount that is below the minimum offer, the system displays the amount in a sea of red ink that suggests user error. That seems unpleasant for the user and could be avoided with the greater clarity of showing the minimum offer amount upfront.
Hi @Garet,
Thanks for the feedback. You're correct - currently, submitting an offer below the minimum offer value brings up a message highlighted in red.

We'll share this with our product team to explore whether displaying the minimum offer value is something we can experiment with.

On the other hand, some sellers despise visible minimum offers on landers. This was discussed in the Saw.com thread, where some commenters demanded they were removed:

Time is definitely ticking with me and Afternic as I had another set of offers on some domains I'd be flexible on pricing, and all of them just moved to the "Stalled" status with a "Buyer indicated the domain was priced outside of what they wanted to spend" notation.

I've had about enough of these generic "drop-down" broker notations (that give you no real info) and I'm also starting to doubt that these offers are for real because my baseline was not that much higher, yet the buyers run like chickens when the price is even slightly above it. Things that make you go hmmmmm.

I need to gain back full control of the negotiations, not to mention get a lower commission rate, and I think I'll make the shift this weekend.

See ya later suckers!

How many times per day does Afternic update our domain visitor numbers? Is it close to real time or hours behind?

Why is it when I type my domains into network solutions they show the direct match, with price.

When it comes to Godaddy where I pay to renew, stay loyal to afternic sister company, you offer horrible cheap gtld options to try, and divert sales. This seems very unethical; and not very loyal.

Time to do good for All your customers equally, and turn on boost for everyone, instead of punishing people who support your register, and sales channel together, customer loyalty only goes so far.

Do better afternic, as well rumor has it self brokerage when it goes live, will have same commission percentage, but you do all the work, go figure.

Might be good idea to offer beta testing to more domainers who are in the trenches everyday.

I'm pretty sure they do what's best for profit not what's ethical

@GoDaddy

It's no fun that you're listing the domains of competitors for sale on your platform.

Please remove these domains and implement procedures to prevent this from ever happening again.

It's crazy to think—an unauthorized user can so easy to list those, while my own domain can suddenly be flagged for review for a month.

I got a serious inquiry today for a good domain that I want several thousand dollars for. I find out that Godaddy has it listed for $500. I have not listed it at Godaddy at all. I visit the Godaddy listing and click on the chat button on that listing. The Godaddy chat rep just kept repeating that he needed a screenshot, even though we were chatting on that very listing. I pasted the URL of the listing into the chat box and the Godaddy rep kept saying that the URL would not work when he clicked on it. I told the rep to copy and paste the URL into his browser, but the rep was never able to understand that he could copy and paste the URL into his browser and just kept telling m he would have to have a screenshot sent to him to see the listing.

This guy was just busy developing a "Free premium Logos". They do this in real time. Within a few seconds.
It's a new innovative idea. By the way, I think it should be patented.

I know this has been reported by others at least yesterday, but still shows for me today. @Afternic. It should be taken down asap. It causes loss of credibility, both directly in your platform, but also more generally in the domain industry that we all depend on.

I had thought that all high-value names went through a verification process. At some point can you please report on how this listing came about, and while not revealing the identity of the poster, what steps were taken.

I once noticed a similar thing happened at Dan, prior to the GD buyout. The fake listing was gone 5 minutes after I reported it. There needs some streamlined response to not let these stay up even hours.

While you are at it, the .ai and .io are, of course, not available to hand register so that is also incorrect. The .it.com is at a 4-figure price, not the base cost shown. As far as I know the .sucks is correct. This widespread problem has continued for many months, and I hope is high on some priority list.

Thank you for your priority response to take down these incorrect listings.

-Bob
