Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

I never use fast transfer and each time I upload new domains I get several that go 'in review'.

but if u dont enable fast transfer on registrar then u dont go on that expanded network no? u dont mind?

@Afternic @GoDaddy

I received this email unexpectedly. Does it suggest an active buyer, or is it just a routine verification request? The domain has been listed for a while, and my dashboard shows no recent activity.

I received the same email last week from 123-reg.

I'd only just listed the name on AN.
I never received the same from GD or Spaceship - and there seemed to be a lot of small print -
so I just left it as 123 have started to be a bit slippery lately.
Interested to see what GD reply.

No proof that it actually expands anything.

it's part of our quality assurance to ensure all listings are current, accurate, and ready for immediate sale.
Well, if this is the case, how come a bunch of my domains are listed by someone else? And I am continually receiving FT approval emails for domains that I did not list????

Show attachment 270155

usually After 60 days of hand registering a domain or transfer domain to your godaddy account you will receive this email to enable fast transfer . ( only in case if the domain listed at afternic )

No proof Fast Transfer results in sales, and it adds a lot of risk for the domain seller.

According to Afternic themselves without Fast Transfer the domain will appear on almost all the partner network sites anyway, as given by them at https://help.afternic.com/s/article/Afternic-Partners

Why do Afternic try to push FT on everyone? Probably the bulk of the sales come through the GoDaddy site anyway, and the few registrars that only show FT domains account for a very very low % of sales, not justifying the risk really.

Exactly. One FT scam or screwup will easily erase any modicum of benefit.

To be honest, FT looks like it was designed by scam artists to help them steal domains.

Ah that makes sense! I bought it from a GD auction on Nov. 29

Spaceship is a Sedo MLS partner, but not an Afternic FT partner, so you will not receive FT authorization notices.

It is confusing, because names registered at Namecheap, the partner registrar, are eligible for Afternic FT.

well that's why I said few.times that it would be nice if every offer or sale came.with info about which partner it came thru.. this would also allow afternic to prove their claims about extended networks ... and avoid doubts like people post here ... it's also great for stats and general sale patterns etc for all domainers

how hard can it be to add to offer or sale where exactly it came from.. they know that right away @Afternic

Someone on another thread had a good idea - they use different pricing end points with different companies.

So the same names are all available but priced :

Company A $XX90

Company B $XX95

Company C $XX99

Then he knows where the lead has come from.

*Sorry, can't remember who it was to give them credit.

No, with different platforms, I think.

I'll see if I can find where they were discussing it...

A lot of Afternic partners add their own mark-up and have their own roundings, which in turn nullifies that effect.
