Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Man, sellers can't even negotiate a sale on Afternic yet, and you think they're going to duplicate Google Analytics?

or get a bulk search option that works. Or bulk that is over 1000 characters. And the list goes on.

I mean, they could literally just add a single field for us to enter our GA4 ID and dynamically insert that into the page in about 15 mins of dev time... but that sounds too simple.

Not these two. One with no buy it now is about math. The other a simple coin domain.

It doesn't have to make sense, as they've given me that reason for singular 1-word domains. All your domain has to do it flag their automated system, then later be cleared by a real human being.

That's assuming GoDaddy wants you to have access to their Google Analytics data.

Remember, GD is far more than just a domain marketplace.

It's not their Analytics data, is yours.

More like "Direct Control".

The ability to respond quickly and decisively to buyer offers is a tenet of end user sales. Waiting for overworked brokers to get around to responding in 2-4 days just doesn't work and sellers need the option to a) take control of their sales or b) send them to brokers who can now respond quicker.

Just like it was at Dan.

Should be common sense to present me with full information from the buyer but I got one now where I'm basically directing the broker to get me the information I need from the buyer. Love paying commission to teach one of their so called brokers how to broker. Debating if I respond or walk away at this point as frustrating to spend days getting basic info with the delays.

Why do the default afternic ns1 & ns2 still point to namefind? When I transfer domains to another registrar, it actually sets them to these namefind addresses. It threw me off. Does not do this for ns 3 & 4.

It's simple enough to find live chat by heading to afternic.com/contact. We'll monitor usage and feedback, of course.

Well I couldn't find it, I used both computer and mobile browsers. The reason why I tried is that I haven't received my payout of the final installment (4 of 4), due on Jan 28. I know the buyer and they said they paid well in advance. It hasn't been a smooth road for them either:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/afternic-official-thread.1295231/page-163#post-9322363

Except for this one LTO, I've practically abandoned Afternic for now because it's simply too much work (only make offers left, and soon no landers), so thank you for the "nice" aftertaste that further validates my decision.

edit: Now the chat widget appeared, peekaboo, must be one of those "fun little experiments". Too late, it wasn't there when I needed it, and I already used the email form. I don't want to explain my issue again.

Most of the time a domain goes into review it's because something in the GD system flagged it as a potential TM issue or that the domain has some objectionable term within it.

Not always, but it's been the case for the vast majority of my "in review" domains - and once you make any change, the domain may have to go through the entire process again.

most time actually names go in review for no reason

hence the problem.

which predictably isnt getting fix.

now recently I noticed a name I transferred from sav to spaceship satoshinakamoto, info go in review

well.. I guess at least here there is a reason. albeit a shit one.

I agree with goat to disable fast transfer if needed. but would that in fewer exposure net partners??? hmmm @Afternic

A domain I transferred 10 days ago is in review now. I changed the name servers to sedo and removed the buy it now from afternic at the time of transfer. So it is only make offer. It literally makes NO sense why this domain is in review. The other one is a .com at godaddy. The price changed from 1999 to 2500. Now it is in review. Again makes NO sense. Refresh may work. But is has been over 10 hours with a dead sales page.

Why not get rid of whatever is causing any domain to go into review. Get rid of fast transfer if that is the reason you have to chronically monitor any domain change. No one needs fast transfer. It doesn't mean fast payment as we all know.

A person can register a domain, throw a buy it now on it and it shows up at godaddy instantly. It cannot be transferred. A sale would probably not even be able to occur except for at godaddy if that is where it is registered. Because it is LOCKED. If I try to buy that domain at dynadot or somewhere...your sales is not happening . Locked....Your system is putting valid domains that can be sold into review.

Lastly use those resources to search for unregistered domains on your platform You have thousands of those. And we have to spend our time tagging and waiting just to get them removed. As mentioned many times before, sedo does this and then sends an email stating it was removed so you can double check.
Hi @Bearded Goat,
We've recently launched a new pending review self-serve system (check out the video below) designed to handle most domain names that go into review. For your reference, the most common reasons for review are included here. At its core, the pending review process ensures listing integrity. When domains are flagged for review, it's part of our quality assurance to ensure all listings are current, accurate, and ready for immediate sale.

This self-serve system marks the first stage in moving away from a support-led process to something you can manage yourself.

This isn't the final stop for pending review. Our ultimate goal is to develop an AI-driven system that understands how you manage your portfolio and adapts to prevent your domain names from going into review. There are several stages to reach before then, but that's the direction we're heading.

Hi @King,
We're aware, and are handling it behind the scenes. Once everything is updated, we'll let you all know.

Thanks @love4ever! Yes, this is the new self-serve pending review system we launched in January. It's designed to make it easy for you to process your pending review domain names independently. Here's a quick video to guide you through the process. For more, read the launch post!

I apologise if this has been done or asked for already but is there a way to manually resend the FT opt in emails? Sometimes a name changes registrars or for whatever reason is opted out and I currently have to ask CS to send out the opt in mails. Being able to do this from the portfolio would go towards the self serve system. Thanks!

I did that. that is the whole point of the post. It is resolved now. How many times do the exact same domain names need to be checked for integrity? They were not newly submitted domains. They were domains that had been in the system for a while.

You mentioned listing integrity. Yet you have thousands of unregistered domains because people will not clean their portfolios. Probably keep importing the same lists over and over.

Also. Ready for immediate sale can likely not happen with a one day old domain. And sellers list these names with buy now knowing that they cannot be transferred. No integrity checks for them.

I have to quit. The daily issues over and over with no end in site is making me insane.

I never use fast transfer and each time I upload new domains I get several that go 'in review'.

If adblock is enabled, BIN lander doesn't load on Firefox, shows white blank page. Anyone else seeing this issue?

Same without Adblock

It doesn't happen to all the names. Its random.

@Afternic @GoDaddy

It's been several months now since the Afternic BOOST service went live. Has any analysis been performed to see the total impact of the BOOST service?
  • did those who "downgraded" (NO BOOST) have a 10% decrease in sales?
  • did those who kept BOOST Active increase their sales by 10%?
  • did overall net income to Afternic go up/down?
  • Would overall Net Income go up if Afternic provided BOOST without the extra 5% Fee?

Selling on Afternic, in its current state, is the definition of insanity.
