By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

That's the only viable solution to the current state of Afternic (and I've been told this by GD as well) - just put a BIN price on everything. Remove the brokers from the equation.

But that's not my style as I'm not really interested in the money for more than its role in adding more/better domains back in my portfolio. That's why my domain sales needs fluctuate from week to week, and one major reason why I find it impossible to sell on Afternic.

I have a mix. The more average stuff is priced.

I probably have about 30% of my portfolio priced.

Maybe like 35% make offer.

The other 35% are not even listed on Afternic at all.

My point is, I'm not sure why they even are talking with the buyer and not giving me a chance to accept, counter, decline, etc. their initial offer.

It's now been 4 days of no activity, and I never heard about this lead once from Afternic. Maybe they messed up the deal and didn't want to message me.

The last one I had in the lead center with an offer, they emailed me the same day.
Seems to be rare. Last two weeks has been really slow.

They are generally better domains, that I don't really have interest in listing outside self-brokerage options.

I bought a domain over a month ago that was listed on Afternic. It was never delivered and the order was cancelled. Now the domain is listed again at the same price.

If the buyer isn't going to deliver the domain, why is the listing active again? @GoDaddy.

The last one I had in the lead center with an offer, they emailed me the same day.

I think that is only on leads where they can quickly and easily confirm the offer.

I've had lots of both and whenever I ask what the delay is for, its always "still confirming the offer".

About listing issues: several months ago I found out that one of my domains was "in review" and, tired of this bug, I just deleted it from AN.

I simply forgot about it. Several weeks ago, I started receiving emails from my registrar asking to confirm authorization for Fast Transfer to be enabled for such domain. At the time, I couldn't remember if this domain was listed or not, didn't have time to check, and was about to opting in without paying much attention.

Fortunately I refrained from doing so. A few days ago, I go to my AN dashboard, look up the domain and it isn't there. Then I recalled having deleted it to skip the bore of eternal review status. I tried to list it again, and the system wouldn't detect my ownership verification records. No way to upload it.

I try the GoDaddy search, type only my keyword, and voilà, first result of the search is my .com domain, with a BIN price and two beautiful labels: "Premium" and "Verified domain"!

But wait.. if it is mine and it is not in my account, how on earth can you not only list it but label it as a "Verified domain"?

This problem is well-known for many years.
Your unseccessful domain thief probably has a boosted account, that´s why the domain is verified.

I recently made the mistake to delete names from Afternic instead of just unlist them, when I had moved them over to Atom. I received two inquiries for enabling FT and was wake enough not to agree.

Exactly.. I made the same mistake. Normally, I would have just unlisted the domain.

when you verify ownership of a domain, they not delete it from the previous owner account they just force it to be listed in your account, and send you a fast transfer request to your registrar. and when you delete the domain listing from your account, the old listing appears in the system with the fast transfer enabled...

I require control + the ability to make lightning-fast deals, neither of which is available or even remotely possible on Afternic.

This is the reason I don't point anything to Afternic anymore. My domains are still listed at Afternic, Sedo etc... but not a fan of anonymous negotiations and some of their brokers are great and others it's either delayed responses or I'm panicking on what the broker is telling the buyer as I've had a few instances where I wasn't too pleased with the brokers performance. If the lead isn't coming direct like most of mine do I'd prefer a Sedo like experience where all the negotiations are visible in the panel instead of waiting for a broker update as slowness can kill deals. Never wanna give a buyer time to second guess or research other options.

Not related to your example, but related towards the words "verified domain": There is a domain I want. It isn't registered. It currently is reserved by the registry and not able to be registered. However, that doesn't stop GoDaddy/Afternic. The domain is currently listed for sale with a price and with "Premium Domain" and "Verified Domain". Can't make this stuff up! Maybe the FTC or some other regulatory agency will eventually hit them up for falsely using the term "verified" when things clearly aren't. Unfortunately, if something were ever to come of it, it would probably just be a fine and then business as usual.

That notation only means the domain listing thief is using Boost. This have been covered many times and confirmed by GD.

The better question is how the actual owner tried to list it, but had it locked In Review, yet the thief had no problem listing it.

I continue to get offers on my "request price" landers. Though, maybe 1-2 real offers for every 20 "confused", "stalled", etc.

I just sold a one word .US today for $7,500. It was priced. Non-boosted like usual.

I assume the buyer bought it via direct navigation to the lander, not via word+extension in GoDaddy search.

Still waiting on self-brokerage...I have a couple thousand domains not listed at all.

Hi does the custom lander works for you? I only get "request price" and "get this domain" regardless of what custom lander I select

you change name servers to ns1.afternic.com ns2.afternic.com automatically.

And please extend this cookie, i have to login 5000+ times per year.

I think you are talking about domains registred with GoDaddy, sometimes I delist Godady registred domains, and when I relist them I got the fast transfer email, sometimes not! then even when we delist the domain, the fast transfer can remain active.
I think it's a bug.
only GoDaddy can clarify that...
for domains registred with other registrars, it's an other story.

And please extend this cookie, i have to login 5000+ times per year.

The auth code authentifiation is just as annoying.

If I haven't been on afternic for 15 mins, and want to make a change to my domains / add domains,
I need to type it again...
