Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

We've got some useful tips on Afternic filters for you!

Filters through your Afternic portfolio page provide faster domain management. Identify and adjust settings in seconds across Lease to Own, Buy Now pricing, and more.

Here are 3 examples of how to use filters at Afternic

1. Lease to Own

Provide the option of payments over time for domain name buyers through Lease to Own. Using filters, identify domain names where Lease to Own is disabled. From the footer toolbar, select "Pricing" and enable Lease to Own.

2. Buy Now pricing

Narrow down your portfolio to adjust pricing on Buy Now pricing using the Buy Now filter. Here, we show domains in our portfolio between $4,000 and $5,000, and increase the price of each by 20%!

3. Minimum Offer

By default, Afternic's minimum offer value for your domain name is $20. With our Custom Lander now providing a Make Offer option, you may want to increase this figure. Use the "Minimum Offer" filter to find domains to edit. Then, select "Pricing".

Afternic's filters can be combined or used alongside our bulk search bar to further narrow down domain names to manage.

Will Afternic still offer a "Checkout Link" (5% Commission) after DAN is completely shut down?

It would be nice to select Not only domains in pagination but all domains selected by the filter... in case of more than 500 domains are filtered, it's impossible to update anything. Anyway, the CSV is the way, as you dont have an api...
Another bug : deleting domains per 500 doesnt work.

edit: CSV is ok, except for managing: lto, landers, delete...

Please add the feature ( Recently viewed ) under views column same like in dan before , when choosing this option it was showing the recently viewed domains sorted on top of the list .

Show attachment 265155

.

I heartily agree and I always thought this was one of the most innovative features on Dan, which probably means it'll never see the light of day on Afternic.

@GoDaddy 100% please add RECENTLY VIEWED. This is one of the most UNDERRATED features, you can get a feel for when someone is actually serious. If a name keeps popping up to the top of "recently viewed" it can be a good real-time signal.

Thats not practical at all , If i have hundreds or thousands of domains to go for each domain individually to check on-site views stat !! It is hard to go checking one by one and wasting of time .

Please add the feature ( Recently viewed ) under views column same like in dan before , when choosing this option it was showing the recently viewed domains sorted on top of the list .

Without google analytics or at least ( Recently viewed ) features your are keeping us watching our portfolios like blind without to figure out or understand what is going on !!!

I was just being sarcastic.

Even the scientists who send rockets into space do not explain their work with such exaggeration.

I know, I was just standing on your shoulders.

We're planning to move over to GoDaddy checkout links for this service in the next couple of months, yes.

Hi @davidc1
We'll be adding LTO and lander selection to the CSV. We'll ask the team to look at the 500-domain delete issue you raised.

Thanks @Springs77. We've shared the feedback with the Afternic product manager to see whether it's something we can add.

Sold an AI domain direct to end user last Thursday. He requested the sale take place on Godaddy, so I put a for sale price on the domain and he quickly purchased it. Now even he regrets using Godaddy to fulfill the sale. They essentially have to scrap the plans to launch this weekend due to Godaddy transaction assurance team being complacent. Domain has been on hold for about a week now. Granted this is a million dollar company and this is my biggest sale of the year. Can I get someone from GD to dm me?
Hey @End User King,
We'll DM you.

I am still being charged tax on LTO sale commission even though I have in my profile that I am selling as a EU country registered company.
This is wrong imo @GoDaddy . Also support is clueless and not helpful on this.

Terrible first experience.

Got 3 domain buyers. All different domains. One bought it, still on hold for 4 days. Another buyer is willing to buy, domain not showing up in the GoDaddy search bar and when he clicks the buy it now button on the Afternic buy it now landing page it forwards to a 'request a price' landing page.... Tried the 'create a checkout link' option as an alternative ,'something went wrong', another bug...

Another buyer bought a domain, I tried to push it no response from the transfer agent if it's possible.Tried live chat, they said they would update me, nothing, no progress at all.

Really need another marketplace this is costing me money.

Because of Afternic's inability to have more than one payee, I have been spending several days preparing to move some domains to a secondary account.

I provided the list of domains that needed to be moved on Thursday morning. It's now Saturday and the domains have not moved.

This is especially frustrating because there is supposedly a $15K lease deal waiting on one of the domains.

Everything about Afternic is more inefficient than Dan.

My Afternic account manager is great, but I get the feeling that there is an unsustainable workload being put on these employees especially with Dan.com closing. Did GoDaddy hire an army of new employees to handle the extra leads? I doubt it.

The entire process is so much slower with Afternic than Dan from the communications to transfer.

The whole thing is frustrating. @GoDaddy

We'll see how DomainEasy improves on all this.

I said this before, but you could literally go crazy waiting for Afternic to do anything and GD should go out and buy Inefficient.com to run this marketplace on. My second choice would be SlowDaddy.com.

It's far worse than watching paint dry because at some point, the paint will dry.

And I don't want to blame the front line employees, as I'm sure with the pending Dan closure (assuming it ever happens), they are overworked and inundated with fixing all the problems of importing so many new domains to an archaic and limited system like Afternic.

But it's just so infuriating to have new offers and payments arrive, and then check the Afternic Dashboard every morning only to see absolutely nothing has changed, day after day. And now that we're into the weekend, nothing will update until Monday at the earliest.

I really miss the 24/7/365 Dan marketplace where I could respond to offers and close deals at night, on weekends, on holidays - any time I wanted to I could be working on domain sales.

And I am not sure I can ever adapt to the 9-5 weekday format of Afternic as it's just too inefficient.

I agree with this as well. There is really no reason Afternic/GoDaddy should not have some 24/7 staff.

I mean it's not like the entire world operates on US East Coast time, only on weekdays.

People buy domains from other countries, and on weekends. The world does not just shut down because it's a weekend. I would often negotiate with buyers on weekends and after hours.

Again, GoDaddy is a multi-billion dollar company, not some mom and pop store. It's within their resources to actually have employees working.

The limited hours, general slowness, and poor communication is at least costing some sales.

Brad
