Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Pointed my names to another provider. Almost all AN listings are now with make offer option. So good luck to their brokers.

Thanks for your feedback, @jiy k. Feel free to DM us a screenshot of what you're seeing, and we'll pass it along to our user experience team.
Thanks for your response. Its difficult to take a screenshot of this, since it's more like an operational encumbrance of the layout. Not a technical person, but I feel It should be on the lines of Godaddy's "Domain Portfolio" layout and not a portfolio window within the page which is quiet flustering while scrolling within the window.
Thanks.

That navigation issue (having to scroll within a separate frame) is frustrating indeed.

Generic question for people who use companies in European Union at Afternic

Now the Payout Transmittal (from mid September i think) has EU MOSS VAT number for Godaddy,

i thought in first place that we need make invoices of Intra-Community type but

i see that:
Foreign companies that trade with private individuals and non-business organisations in the EU may have a VATIN starting with "EU" instead of a country code

so i assume that for companies/business organisations in EU still invoices will be of type "third country" ?

Confused

I'm having the same issue. Domains get the On Hold status and are not automatically cleared. I've already contacted Support about this. The On Hold status is there for 7-9 days already. Please fix this issue for all.

The information provided by Support is incorrect. I've followed up with them today to insist on clearing the on-hold status. Afternic Support 2 days ago:

AN support told me:
This domain is under a cart hold at a reseller platform, I cannot see which one or whether the payment has cleared, but most likely it's a pending sale. If the buyer who has the domain in their cart doesn't purchase after some time, then the domain will be made active again.
I cannot do anything to make the domain active if there is a cart hold, we'll have to wait for it to expire or for the buyer to complete the purchase.

@GoDaddy

Why GD/AN cannot still sort out the shopping cart issues?

Besides the reported issue of having to wait 20-60 seconds for it to load, I am regularly getting bunch of other issues like a) white page instead of payment confirmation; b) you did everything right, but something went wrong error c) we cannot process the transaction at this time

I can only imagine what percentage of our sales are lost due to these.

I have struggled for a while to complete auction purchase. And after that I am now stuck trying to renew my domains. Can you imagine someone trying to buy a $3000 domain purchase on impulse?? He gets an error like that, he is most probably like "oh well, it is not meant to be" or "I'll do it later".

Atom (498 names parked), Efty (522 names parked), Namepros (294 names parked) Afternic (148 names parked). Afternic as you can see has become my least trusted parking source. They've lost my trust. I have 61 pages of the domains sold at Afternic, and yet I no longer trust that people are able to buy my domains there because they're not visible anymore. I know there will be a hiccup with their self brokerage, either another delay, or it will not work as intended so I'm about 90% out.
Interesting. How do you decide on which domain goes with which lander ?

The same is happening here. I cannot add (most of the) auction domains to my cart and also cannot pay for the minority that was added to the cart. This error appears and another error message that I should call Manila (?!) for support.

The URL in the screenshot from @Recons.Com suggests that it's a customized HTTP 503 error code. GoDaddy must really fix capacity problems on all their platforms, and improve user experience.

The last posts read as if the Armagodaddon is here.

My recent few purchases on GD Closeout were smooth. As a seller on AN I am missing the active bad experience. I have no clue who tries to buy a name from me and fails to add to cart or to pay. Really disturbing.

Are you the buyer?

As this is a holiday long-weekend in Canada (for Thanksgiving) it brought to mind another huge issue I have with Afternic.

That virtually nothing happens on the weekend.

Since we're at the mercy of brokers who work a regular business week, the weekends are simply lost days at Afternic, while I have negotiated and closed many deals at Dan on the weekends, including some very lucrative ones. My second-last sale on Dan was finalized on September 28, the Danbot took care of the rest, and I was paid on October 1.

No way you can accomplish that on Afternic.

As you are/were your own broker at Dan, if you wanted to work 7 days a week then you could and sellers could get quick responses on Saturday and Sunday, but at Afternic, you are totally beholden to the brokers, so you're really losing 2 full days (or more on holidays) that to me, can translate into lost sales.

* And I should note that this may not change even with a self-brokerage option, as I keep seeing notes that Afternic brokers will continue to receive and forward leads even under the proposed new system. So that could mean an offer or lead received on a weekend will not be in your Dashboard until the broker assigns it the next Monday/Tuesday, even if you selected self-brokerage.

This might be something for @GoDaddy to clarify.

I concur. You're not making any sales on weekends, so you have only five days to complete everything.
