Checked some of the .co & .io domains i own and they don't show up in the reg path search if I only search for SLD. One of them don't even show up if i include the tld.

Country setting: Canada
Same results as above for cctlds. And .com domains don't even show in the reg path

If you're going to enable the Boost, search on GoDaddy to make sure your domains are showing up before enabling it.

At 19:40 time: When Mark asked GoDaddy about data:
How many typed in the keyword?
how many typed in the exact match?
how many came through the lander?

He was told they didn't have any data to share with him and told him we kinda did 10% better.

Sounds scientific.

Does anyone know what percentage of domain sales at Godaddy are private anyway? Have you seen the fortune theyโ€™re making on expired domains?! You should; itโ€™s jaw dropping what people will bid on but not even consider paying another investor more than $100 for.

Iโ€™d bet commission from private sales is a drop in the bucket for GD, hence not a ton of concern over domainers being up in arms. As twisted as it is, they probably do see this as somehow doing us a favor.

Thank you for the response. My main concern is getting with UDRP because of email outbound that comes with Afternic Boost. I don't want it to turned on for all domains.

Check out recent example of: Young.com UDRP (this is just one sample, there are so many cases like this)

This will force sellers to create second account if they want to add Boost.

I strongly agree with this. It's the first thing that came to mind when I saw the "Email Marketing Campaigns" point in the blog post. And regardless of the promised benefits of this "Boost" if any! These "Email Marketing Campaigns" could do more harm than good.

@GoDaddy I believe a reasonable solution could be an option to opt-in with "Boost" for selected domains of our choice instead of forcing it all on the entire portfolio.

Thank you!

I've been analyzing the commission structure for Afternic sales, particularly for LTO deals. Here's a scenario I'd like to clarify:
Let's say you didn't opt out of Afternic Boost, you're using a different lander, and your domain sells on a 36-month LTO deal through Afternic for $1,000.

Based on the information provided:
30% base commission for using a different lander
20% service fee for the 36-month plan
10% seller commission discount for 25-36 month LTO

By my calculations, this would result in a 40% total commission to GoDaddy (30% + 20% - 10% = 40%).
Is this correct? For a $1,000 domain, would the seller receive $600 and GoDaddy $400?

I'd interpret it that 20% is a surcharge. So $1000 sales price with 36 mo LTO would result in buyer paying 1200$. You'd get $800 out of it. GD would get $400. That is 33.3% commission.

I agree, MOST of my domains (most are .com) have not shown up in the search either. .cc .io .us .biz .org doesnt matter.

Also, I have no idea if AN will "punish" those who opt out by removing their searched SLDs from the reg path searches but if they do plan to then I have already seen what that looks like with my account's lackluster performance and its not pretty. Still, its not worth the below unknowns.

As far as sales go AN never really worked for me, I dont know why. I've done more on DAN and privately. I only had 2 sales in the past 10 months. So a "10% increase" is only .2 of a sale. LOL

Add to that the fact that I do not wish to invite any UDRP trouble with outbound that I have no clue what the parameters are. I dont own any trademark infringing domains but that fact has not ever stopped companies from attempting to reverse-hijack domains. Nor do I potentially wish to have my domains blacklisted by Google for possibly unwanted outbound campaign reports. We have no idea if the recipients will be happy to receive or will they consider it spamming. Otherwise I'd build and run my own outbound marketing program in a heartbeat!

With that all said, I see no path forward with AN / GD at this point.

I certainly do wish anyone who chooses to stay in the very best of luck. Perhaps, in time, after some tweaking and adjustments from GD, the program may become a bit more palatable. Never fully close doors...

When a sale happens at Afternic, is there any way to tell if it sold via their extended Fast transfer network partner or via one of their standard partners? I'm trying to ascertain if I should keep domains at Spaceship which is not an Afternic FT partner. I assume the only way to tell is whether the name is fast transferred (which gives me a clue as to which network partner sold the name). Is there any other way?

Today I received an email from an Afternic broker regarding one of my domains, with the corresponding message in the lead center. Only problem is this is a duplicate email/message from about a month ago. Even the date in the lead center on the new message shows the old date.

Is this the same dev team working on the Afternic Boost email promotions? :xf.eek:

Hello @GoDaddy

Just a question about Payments, Can you disburse funds through ACH? Payoneer?

Has anyone tried this and it worked? Thanks,

Hi @silentg
This is at the heart of why Boost exists, helping to provide added visibility for aftermarket domain names within GoDaddy's suggested search results area.

Same situation here. "Payout Scheduled Est. Jul 27, 2024" Still no money and no response.
Hi @Andrut
Please DM us with more information.

In this scenario, the seller would receive a 10% discount on their Boosted 30% rate, with a total of 20%.

If you have an account manager, you will be able to have a better understanding of where your sales are coming from. We'll also DM you :)

More bugs. Suddenly 114 of my domains were unlisted - not deleted - without me doing anything, and I keep getting logged out even though I check "stay logged in on this device." Shouldn't Afternic's commission be going down instead of up with all these problems?

Right now I cannot bulk unlist (select domains and then unlist), I have to unlist every domain separately on the update details window. Anyway, when I first tried and retried and retried to bulk unlist, during that process I accidentally deleted a couple of names. Now the system doesn't allow me to relist them (says error).

"Please sign in again to continue" many times in an hour. No biggie when the fields autopopulate, but 2FA every freaking time.

Are there even people still working on bug fixing, or are they all in the marketing department now?
