Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

I think your first screenshot is still the Bulk Edit function, even while you only selected just 1 domain. Is that correct? If yes, it's identical to what I reported. The option to change LTO in bulk has gone from that window, and should return.

As for your second screenshot, which appears after clicking 'on' or 'off' in the LTO column (or going to domain details, and Edit), it's (indeed) still possible to enable or disable LTO settings per individual domain name. But it's pretty cumbersome without the Bulk LTO option.

cc @GoDaddy

You are correct. Only 1 domain was selected.

I have concluded that when it comes to anything GD/AFT related, cumbersome is the new efficient.

It is strange that Afternic is unable to resolve this, despite the many reports.

Do you also see the "Registrar Not Eligible" status with some domains?

Sending you a PM

I really hope they provide downloadable invoice like Dan and Sedo do.
Hi @justlife
We're planning to introduce this later in the year!

Bulk LTO customization seems to have disappeared as of today.

Hi @Future Sensors
The Bulk Lease to Own edit feature will be back soon. We're working on some adjustments behind the scenes that temporarily affect the availability of this bulk action. Apologies for the inconvenience, but it will be back soon.

I transferred 25 domains from one registrar to another (Sav) five days ago. Before that, I deleted the domains from Afternic because, from my experience, they would get stuck at Afternic if you don't do that.

The next day, I added the domains back to Afternic, and one of them got stuck "In Review". I waited a day, and it was reviewed, but its Fast Transfer status indicated that I'm not with an eligible Fast Transfer partner, although Sav is.

I deleted the domain again, and once more, it got stuck "In Review". I contacted Afternic: they responded quickly, approved the domain, and this time the Fast Transfer status was "Opt-in", so I did that in Sav.

Today, my domain is again "In Review". :banghead:
Hi @Alex270
We're sorry to hear that. Your feedback will be shared with the Afternic team. For this specific name, we recommend reaching out to the support team again to take it out of review. We'll also follow up with you via DM.

No need for a DM, thank you, because I just got an e-mail from Afternic support and they fixed it (again). Fingers crossed it stays like that, because it has gone "In Review" three times in five days.

Thank you again for showing interest in fixing things. :)

I am starting getting more and more names from FT back into review mode again.

And the worst part is that when they manually push them from there, the status is never normal Active. It has things like "No", "Not Eligible", "Registrar not Eligible" etc.

How is it possible not to figure it out and solve in weeks??? GD/AN clearly needs a better tech team. They should have retained/promoted engineers they got from Uni and/or Dan.

and it went from 2 to 7 to 10 and now to 208 "under review" in the matter of an hour :(((

This pure unprofessionalism is just truly annoying me.

and this is how the lander shows for those:

Hello NamePros community!
We're excited to share 4 updates to your experience at Afternic, which are rolling out from today!
  • Advanced Filtering
  • Bulk Search
  • Price Request Adjustments
  • UI Updates

Advanced Filtering
From today, we're gradually rolling out new advanced filters to further improve portfolio management, helping you hone in on domain names that you want to see.

Bulk Search
Gradually rolling out to sellers from today is a bulk search function! Search for multiple domain names, keywords, or domain extensions in a single search.

Price Request Updates
Price Request management is moving to the Lead Center! From now on, the "Needs Attention" tab will show Price Requests you're due to respond to, while you'll have the option to dismiss a price request from the Lead Center itself.

UI Adjustments
Logging in to Afternic, you'll see that menu items have been adjusted to help us prepare for more product updates later in 2024. "Leased Out" and "Sold" menu items have shifted to a new location, within the "Sales" tab, where you'll also find the lead center.

You'll be seeing these updates roll out from today! For more information, take a look at our blog post: https://blog.afternic.com/whats-new-june-2024/

I hope these upgrades happen, work, and don't break other existing features. Fingers crossed...

If anyone finds that Bulk Search has "rolled out" to them and is actually functional, please share. That really would be a helpful feature -- incredibly basic and overdue but very much needed.

Based on past experience with GoDaddy's "upgrades", I am hopeful but (highly) skeptical.

So, since Dan is going away I went and tried:

NS1/NS2

NS3/NS4

1 domain using each

Tried Buy Now to see how it looks like

Then Price Request

They both look exactly the same.

What's the difference?

As far as this. So it's possible to get the full amount of a domain sale and pay $0 commission if it's a long lease, 37 months or longer? This is what it says here: https://help.afternic.com/s/article/What-are-your-fees-commissions

Lease-To-Own

For Lease to Own (LTO) Domain Sales, the standard commission rate of 25% ($15 minimum) or the reduced commission rate of 15% ($15 minimum) are subject to commission discounts, based on the length of the Lease to Own Term the buyer selects
0 to 12 months: 0% commission discount
13 to 24 months: 5% commission discount
25 to 36 months: 10% commission discount
37 to 60 months: 15% commission discount

Examples

  • exampledomain.com uses ns1.afternic.com & ns2.afternic.com as nameservers. It sells for $1,000 USD on a 16 months term through LTO. 15% reduced commission - 5% commission discount = 10% total commission. The sellerโ€™s total payout would be $900 USD, split into 16 monthly payments

  • And that's thru Dan? Since the Lease to Own stuff on Afternic goes to Dan, I guess later it'll all be on Afternic?

URL-forwarding does not work anymore at GoDaddy:

Domains with Subdomain "www" resolve to the forwarded website.
Domains without any Subdomain do NOT resolve to the forwarded website.

It also only forwards to a "https:" URL, so this is also a bug.

URL-forwarding was working fine previously, but stopped working 2 or 3 days ago.

I dont understand why you dont use dan's ui, you add some things but it seems you'll never have a better ui than them.
It's impossible to manage big porfolios with afternic, always contacting the manager for everything is time wasting, and impossible when you buy/sell/change price, etc... everyday
the only way is to incorporate all things in csv import/export, or API

Even the current csv import/export doesnt work due to memory problems, that kind of thing could be fixed in a cupple of minutes.

The lander type has to be set in the Afternic Dashboard for your domains. It cannot be set purely based on NS any longer (like it used to be).

https://blog.afternic.com/lander-selection-redefining-your-use-of-afternic-landing-pages/

-and-

https://www.godaddy.com/resources/news/afternic-landing-page-selection-ownership-verification

You will see different landers for BIN and Price Request, if all is set correctly in the Dashboard.

(because of the current issues with ns1/ns2, I advise using ns5/ns6, and then set your landers in the Dashboard. All Afternic nameservers will answer with the same A records for your landers)

I was confused for a moment (since we're in the Afternic thread), but noticed that you are indeed talking about GoDaddy the registrar, where you can set up such redirects.

Ok, I was switching lander types in the dashboard, so got that part.

What was tripping me up was people recommending n3, n4, which I guess now doesnโ€™t matter anymore since changes are made via dashboard regardless of which Afternic name servers are being used. If I have all that correct

Thanks for your feedback, @Garet. The Afternic team works hard behind the scenes to ensure these rollouts are smooth. Filters and bulk search will gradually become available to all sellers. Please reach out with your feedback when you have been able to use the features!

Hi @JB Lions
That's correct. The reduced commission rate of 15% can be further discounted to 0% through a 37 to 60 month term.

Lease to Own sales that happen via the Dan.com Lander at Afternic currently follow the Dan.com checkout path, but Lease to Own sales via GoDaddy search (a perk of enabling LTO at Afternic) are closed through the GoDaddy cart.
