Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

For the first time, I recently made a sale using the 'checkout link' through the Afternic system.

The lead came through Bodis (thanks Troy) and I handled the negotiations myself. It took a few months, but I took them from the 100 initial offer to upper XXXX and the name was registered at Dynadot.

Creating the link was easy and fast and once the buyer had it in hand and used it, their funds/payment were approved by Afternic/Godaddy in record time (buyer is a large International ad agency). The transfer took only a few minutes (thanks Dynadot) and the buyer had control of it in less than an hour.

I'm sharing all of this here as I'm curious how long payout from Afternic/Godaddy will take. Over all, recent sales have taken 7-10 days to complete...I'm wondering if this will be a)Quicker, b)Slower or c)About the same.

Great, never thought I'd leave GoDaddy, been with them for decades! But their pricing is insane. They want $14.99 renewals... PorkBun is $10.37. Their DDC club does get it down, but you need thousands of names to make it a wash. I'd pay more to stay with GD - but their pricing is simply out of whack nowadays
I'm now even seeing $21.99 renewal prices for .com at GoDaddy, without DDC.

Yes, for some reason my renewal prices for some of my names showed $14.99 (one even sub $10!) - but most were at $21.99. I moved all but 2 of my domains out of GD yesterday. The one at sub $10 I renewed with GD for 5 years (the max they'd allow). And the other has email set up and it's annoying to change.

Transferring was a pain, but I can't support an entity that is gouging newbies with their prices.

37 days and still counting.
Tried to connect the transaction assurance team via email and call.
Tickets closed without the issue being resolved.
@GoDaddy
@GoDaddy It's been 95 days now.
Still, The payout is not issued.
The support team has no idea where my domain name or payment is.
I am always told to wait for x more days and be patient to get the issue resolved.
It's so tough to reach the TA team via phone call. And they don't call back even after so many requests.
If we are paid after 95 days for a fast transfer domain name why would anyone list it at fast transfer?
I have messaged you on namepros for an update but got no reply.

Please guide me through your escalation matrix.

I have a problem with Afternic Fast Transfer confirmation!
part of my portfolio is listed with Afternic fasttransfer network!
But another part doesn't!
I relisted them several times, domains met all the rules to be listed! I received Opt-in e-mail with information!
I wait for activation e-mail from my registrar Namecheap as I always did.
But confirmation e-mail haven't received!
Contacted Afternic support and they said my domains are ok and my registrar should confirm them!
Contacted Namecheap live chat support and they punch my problem to another support department then to another then say I will be informed through e-mail!
About 3 days I have not received any e-mail from them!
Maybe you guys can help me?
I changed my domain contact details (e-mail) on Namecheap registrar but it has been confirmed and I don't think this could be a reason!

If you use Afternic Price Request lander, it doesn't load if a buyer has Adblock. Switch to BIN lander until issue is resolved.

@GoDaddy - Are we looking at a new Afternic lander option here?

If so, I like it.

It's clean. (Clean is good. Clean sells.)

It looks even better on mobile devices.

If I may make one tiny little suggestion...

Lose the second "now" as well as the comma that follows it. (Circled in red)

Afternic BIN landers are not loading on Brave browser for me.

Works fine on Chrome.

That is indeed a clean lander, I like it.

I checked and I don't see any new landers under settings, they might be A/B testing it with some accounts.

I wonder if they are going to add a brand new lander option or modify an existing one.

Did they ever? I know Bodis landers never did

Hi @Mister Funsky,
Thanks for sharing your feedback on Custom Checkout Link! We're pleased that you liked it. As for payout times, Custom Checkout Link transactions follow Afternic's standard Transaction Assurance path, so this should result in similar payout times.

Hi @Parmeet,
We cannot discuss your case on a public forum. The Transaction Assurance leadership team is working through this, and they will reach out as soon as they're able to with further information.

Hi @silentg,
We're aware of a loading issue with some third-party ad blockers, and we're working with those companies to resolve this as soon as possible.

Hi @411domains,
Thanks, and well spotted! At the moment, we're testing this as a direct replacement for the "Classic" internal make-offer lander, pictured below. We like the new design, but it's the first iteration, so we'll continue testing it on our internal 'make offer' page for now.

I am not a fan of Afternic's new design.

There is so much wasted space and there is no search box on the main page.

You have to click on "start buying" twice for it to actually show a GoDaddy search box.

Brad

I noticed this a couple of days ago. It's hard for buyers to search for domains now. I don't know why they changed it. It was fine as it was.

I don't like it either, Brad. Gutting Afternic's search seems like an intentional push to GoDaddy as the place to search. Afternic is now less of a marketplace and just GoDaddy's name for its listing service.

If that is the case they could at least put a GoDaddy search box on the website.

Right now the Afternic.com website is a complete waste of space.

It should not be difficult to find a search box.

I agree 100%, Brad, but I'm not sure that reduced functionality isn't intentional, though. I'm guessing that Afternic is not intended by GoDaddy to be a destination for buyers.

Your logic is solid. It would be easy to have search easily and readily accessible on Afternic's home page. It used to be there. Not now. Why? Bad interface and/or design? That's always possible with GoDaddy. Or intentional? That's my guess but only that.
