Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

I did a simple bulk price update, and now all the names have been "Pending Review" for days. That is not the best way to generate sales...
I selectively updated ~25 domains with the same "Pending Review" result. I have now been disincentivized to undertake the action most often recommended to increase sales, that is, to set Buy It Now prices.
It seems a bit self-defeating for GoDaddy to tolerate such bugs.
Also, from a coding and operations perspective, this outcome makes more work for GD employees, IF anyone is actually performing a "review.
Updating prices is a discretionary, ministerial action for any domainer. Why make it more complicated, unless the "coded-in review" is intended to trigger a message to a domainer that GD knows better what the listed price should be. I'm sure that would work a charm...cough . . .
Dear GD: Please #comment out the line(s) of code that are triggering this needless review.

I am facing the following issues since yesterday.

- All updated prices aren't reflected on Afternic "Buy Now" landing pages, they're still showing old prices even though the prices are updated on my Afternic account.

- Another issue is that all new listings since yesterday are not showing prices at all on Afternic "Buy Now" landing pages.

Please fix these issues ASAP. Thank you!
Hi @Maged Khatab, Afternic listings can take time to syndicate prices across the network and our landing pages. That being said, we'll make sure the product team is aware of this so that they can review the performance.

@Embrand, we're sorry to hear this. The In Review status is triggered for several reasons, but the Afternic team is analyzing the In Review system with a view to adjusting this. For now, the customer service team (or your account manager) is on hand to review domains affected.

It's now been 17 days since GoDaddy's top-notch SSO system last allowed me to access my Afternic account.

Can't add domains. Can't edit prices. Can't provide auth code in the eventuality of a non-FT sale.

Thanks, GoDaddy.
@Rhinnnn, we'll get in contact with you again to make sure this is resolved for you.

As Aman Bhutani, Paul Nicks, and Charles Beadnall ARE RESPONSIBLE FOR AFTERNIC SHORTFALLS, I would advise those who have continued problems at afternic to contact the people who can fix these problems.

Those three people above can be reached at their first initial followed by last name @Godaddy.com.

Geez....

You can say adam dicker is a crook. You can say that Epik.com is corrupt. You can say all other things. BUT, YOU CAN'T critique the PEOPLE who run afternic, or offer their emails for people to contact.

This forum is a clown show.

I have made comments that are critical of Afternic, GoDaddy, and Dan.

Several are in this thread regarding Afternic payouts, LTO terms, etc.

I have made comments in other threads regarding the shenanigans going on at GoDaddy auctions.

I have pointed out the lack of response from GoDaddy regarding several of these issues.

Ideally, I hope these comments help improve their systems.

I am not sure what posts have been removed, but several critical posts are still here.

I am not sure what posts have been removed, but several critical posts are still here.

I simply advised to domain investors to reach the management level directly. Then @M999 shared a few email addresses.

And in my other message, if we can't solve our problem in this way, I suggested deleting/moving the items in the afternic and all related systems and protesting the whole company altogether.

They are obviously very afraid of losing market value and do not want to allow even the slightest spark.

If we cannot discuss ideas freely in the so-called forum, then what is the purpose of this platform? Just licking someone's ass?

Another bug. I had a small instant transfer sale a few hours ago, and, since it is expensive to receive small payouts via (my default) international bankwire, as usual, logged to my afternic account to change the payee from default bankwire to paypal. It was always possible to change the sale payee before the payout is scheduled.
But:

Payee selection link is no more shown. Why is this??? I cannot think of any logical reason to disable this useful functionality...

One politician (non-US, so his name would not say much here) once said: "We wanted the best, but it turned out as always". I can't stop thinking about it in GD/Afternic context :(. Would @GoDaddy be so kind to share what really happens and why. I mean really, not in press-releases style. Understaffing? New engineers who are busy with other tasks? Anything else?

2 days ago I made an offer of $300, for a random domain through Afternic.
Just now I got a call from a broker, to confirm that my offer is legit.
He told me that he still hasn't informed the seller for my offer!

So the seller will be informed only when I confirm my offer on the phone?
What will happen if I don't answer.
I m sure that the majority of the buyers from all over the world, never answer to a random unknown UK number...

HI could @GoDaddy please clarify about auto-listing to Afternic of Dan.com listed domains? Dan told us this starts from 1 Aug - today - but which Afternic network do they get listed to?

Are they not auto-listed if they do not have a fixed price set at Dan.com?

According to Afternic at https://www.afternic.com/domain-reseller-network - until now at least - domains listed in an Afternic account with Fast Transfer enabled reach a much wider network than other listings.

Every domain listed with us is promoted as a Manual Transfer domain. But making your domain a Fast-transfer domain gives it an extra level of exposure... The domain is listed with the largest domain resellers, so more potential buyers see it.

If the domains listed at Dan.com that get auto-listed to Afternic are not reaching the wider Afternic network, then it still makes sense to list domains in an Afternic account with Fast Transfer enabled. On the other hand, if the Dan listed domains do reach the full Afternic network, then likely there is no reason to list domains in an Afternic account, and no reason to enable Fast Transfer, which would save time and simplify things.

Posted a similar query in the Dan.com thread https://www.namepros.com/threads/da...official-thread.1148567/page-233#post-8977835 but no reply there so raising it here direct with @GoDaddy

@GoDaddy Which platform generally has a better conversion for BIN landers, at the moment -- DAN or Afternic?

I am writing to express my frustration with the "Afternic.com" platform. The interface is outdated and riddled with bugs, making it extremely difficult to navigate. Specifically, when trying to list "domain" on "Afternic.com" the system incorrectly shows that it is already listed by someone else, and their validation process fails to resolve this issue.
I urge you to address and resolve these persistent issues on the "Afternic.com" platform. Such problems are causing significant frustration and hindering the smooth functioning of our operations.

These changes giving me a headache. Going to list them as usual. Have some auction wins that I set to Make Offer at Dan the first 2 months. Have a batch that I've had for 2 months+, will now price them and submit them at Afternic. Wait till they go thru at Afternic/show up thru their partners, then update the price at Dan.

I don't think James should be blamed for anything here. He's been helpful (or tried to be) whenever possible. But he can't do the jobs that GoDaddy's tech or financial departments are responsible for.

Yes, payee selection is still a functionality that Afternic offers, and it appears this should have been an option for you. We've asked our Afternic engineers to investigate this but if we can help to connect you with Afternic's TA in this case, then we'd be happy to do that. Please DM us.

Hi @carob! The Dan.com team has replied to you in their thread, but we'll link here for everyone's reference.

@GoDaddy Which platform generally has a better conversion for BIN landers, at the moment -- DAN or Afternic?
We don't have any data to share at the moment. We'll ask the Afternic team to look at sharing some data related to landers.

WTF is wrong with Godaddy/Afternic?

I've been unable to log in for nearly 2 weeks...I've lost one sale because I could not adjust pricing and now a 'rep' is wondering why I'm not responding to him regarding a paid inquiry.

I've pointed the name to another lander hoping the prospective buyer reaches out to me directly.

Where did I blame James?
Stated very few posts since he assumed his new position. Blame us more than anything as we allow it to continue.
Stated years ago, long before you were here, daddys stock price is inflated due to illegal activity. Someone should contact some reporters, since godaddy doesnt seem to care.
Please point out where I blamed james
He will last as long as cyger, daddy may be a little to hard on his boys

So, I get a response from support. Of course I explained to them I've always used Godaddy credentials to sign in from the time they (afternic) were bought out. Here is what the email said:

"If you remember the email, you created your account with, the rest should be easy. Please, click the link below to recover your password: https://www.afternic.com/recover

You would need to insert your Afternic account username. Can't remember your username? Please, click the link below:

https://sso.afternic.com/v1/account/retrieve"

I really hope they take the time to read my response telling them again I've only used Godaddy credentials to sign in...also asked if the Godaddy log in will be functional again in the future. I hope so...recently had a significant sale go through Afternic and it was seamless and the money arrived quickly.
