Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Yes, I've seen that happen many times. Not pretty. It can cause some stress for sure (not that GoDaddy would care).
It used to be different few years ago. The domain would just have "on hold" status but stay visible. After all it is still OUR domain in OUR portfolio till it is transferred.

It’s been 2 days now and i’m still not able to change my landing page , just a :

“Something went wrong , please try again later”

@GoDaddy James, any idea what's going on? Payouts are super slow, transaction review is super slow as well ("Payment collected, transaction under verification"), even the most patient buyers are pissed off by this nonsense.

@Afternic
Correct me if i am wrong !
Isn't it when domain expired the fast transfer will be disabled ONLY, And domain will still be available for sale for sometimes till redemption period !
Why afternic claiming that domains became "Not available for sale" !??

Hi @love4ever,
That email is a periodical email we send to prompt sellers to review domains in Pending Review status. Domains in that status require your action to reactivate the listing.

Domains may enter the pending review status for several reasons:

  • Domain Expiration: The domain has expired.
  • Registrar Transfer: The domain has been moved to a different registrar.
  • Updated Registrant Information: Changes have been made to the registrant’s Whois details.

@GoDaddy James, any idea what's going on? Payouts are super slow, transaction review is super slow as well ("Payment collected, transaction under verification"), even the most patient buyers are pissed off by this nonsense.
Our team reached out via X to double check the domain name. We'd definitely like to investigate.

Are afternic landing pages not going live, the listings cannot be found in godaddy search, and do not land on their pricing pages? Anyone else double check their recent additions?

Yes. Thank you for bringing this up. I am seeing the same thing. GoDaddy cannot deliver consistently clean tech ever. Sad. And they clearly don't really care enough to improve.

Updating the name (even to a different lander) via Afternic does not correct it. I was hoping that it would.

Since today, if you change anything about your domain name that is already in your account such as the price or minimum offer the change is not reflected on the landing page or in GoDaddy’s search results. The “resubmit listing” option also doesn’t work. It only works after you remove the domain name and add it again.

I don't know when @GoDaddy introduced this, but now when you search for a domain and that domain had over 10 searches (included) last year it will show this on the sale page, under the name. Great idea!

Out of 88 domains that I had last year (NS pointing somewhere else) this is my top 10 on GoDaddy:

1) AltWhat.com — 47 searches

2) RentMeant.com — 46

3) TresJe.com — 39

4) CoSlot.com — 34 (This year, it has 4 searches in one month also on Spaceship. This domain also had an offer of $1700 in 2023 on Afternic/GoDaddy, but I could not negotiate since it was a Squadhelp/Atom premium at that time)

5) OnLife.org — 31 (This also has 39 searches this year on Spaceship, in the last ~ two months)

6) TheCoffee.net — 29 (This has 93 searches on Spaceship, this year, in the last ~ two months)

7) AiByUs.com — 29

8) Mokzo.com — 29

9) LagCube.com — 27

10) AweMy.com — 23

What's the easiest way for us to manually turn Fast Transfer OFF on individual names?

I believe that deleting the name and re-adding it will do the trick. The Afternic system does not provide an OFF switch that I know of -- just the ON switch.

I never realized this before. Seems like there should be an easier way, right?

I’ve got an offer for a domain on my lead center since yesterday.
Yet the assigned broker hasn’t followed up with the potential buyer or replied to my message.
This is a great way to lose a sale
The only way you can speed up the process is messaging the agent multiple times on a row and writing multiple emails to Afternic transaction assurance and service teams.

Certainly, but it's quite obvious they don't want you getting off the Fast Transfer bus.

But that's partially why it's so freaking slow, as all the "squeaky wheels" are messaging brokers/TA and wasting their time. And as more and more people use this tactic, the broker response times will only grow longer.

Otherwise you will lose sales. Call them too

I few days ago I got into a verification procedure after changing my payment method to wire transfer. I sent the requested documents and got it through. Today I switched my payment method back to PayPal and I'm under verification again.

I would like to know if from now on I will be verified each time I change the payment method? I often switch between wire and PayPal depending on the sale amount (wire for bigger sales and paypal for smaller ones) and going each time through it would be very inconvenient as it delays payouts and require extra time for preparing the docs.
