Hello NamePros!
By popular demand, we have launched a dedicated feedback thread for Afternic, the GoDaddy-owned domain name marketplace.

We have created this thread as a way for you to tell us what works, what doesn't work, and what features you'd like to see at Afternic (please be constructive with your feedback). We're looking forward to hearing from the domain investment community to help us shape the future of Afternic.

We will also be sharing Afternic product updates in this thread.

Please note that this thread is not meant for support. Please email our support team at [email protected] for assistance.

Tried few times, double checked I followed the upload instructions using csv file. The names of the domains got updated, but the BIN price, floor price, min offer price, lease y/n, lease length and the rest did not update. Is there something causing an issue. Is there a troubleshooting knowledgebase or video that points out any common mistakes people make that cause not all of the columns to be updated?
Hi @Maxxo,
Any field that includes data should be updating.

bulk example.png

As long as you're following the same format that you see in this example from our bulk upload sample spreadsheet, the fields should be updating.

Afternic's support team at afternic.com/contact can double check your upload file for you!

Can afternic please include some details with this lead update:

Buyer call logged

Who called who?

Call from buyer logged
or
Broker call to buyer logged

or something like that
Hi @AEProgram,
We appreciate your feedback on additional transparency. As for what you see on screen, "Buyer call logged" indicates that our broker has called the buyer. If it's followed by "engagement occurred," it means the broker successfully chatted with the buyer.

Late payments this month.

As far as:

"Payout Received - Last installment received successfully."

Does anybody know if that refers to the Jan 22 installment or the Feb 21 installment.

Usually for this Lease To Own Transaction I was getting paid on the 22.

nevermind, I just called them. They'll get back to me.

Afternic Parking?

Is anyone actively parking with a GoDaddy property (SmartName, CashParking) and finding it reasonably efficient and manageable? I like to have parking in my landers mix. I have tried but cannot achieve a reasonable solution with a GoDaddy-approved, non-punitive NS solution.

I find that successfully adding names is very difficult, nearly impossible. It's worse than sales landers. Old ownership overrides new. I have names set to parking that resolve fine but do not show any traffic or revenue. These are proven names elsewhere. I moved them only to avoid GoDaddy's NS penalty. I have reached out via email and contact form. Nothing.

Most of my GoDaddy parking revenue comes from names, not that I currently own, but ones that I used to own. Frankly, it's ugly.

I am reluctant to terminate parking names that earn a multiple of renewals. Sedo is fine but certainly not inspired.

I very much welcome words of wisdom from anyone who finds that they can add names to parking and have them accurately track.

Thank you.
Hi @Garet,
If you can provide us with your Afternic username for parking and your GoDaddy ID for CashParking, we'd be happy to connect you with our team to answer your questions in more detail.

You now have even greater control over the maximum lease period for Lease to Own (LTO)!Sellers, head to http://afternic.com/account/lander to enable LTO and select your preferred maximum lease period for new domain name listings.

Once you've set and saved your maximum lease period, any new domain names added to your Afternic account will automatically include your default LTO period!Keep in mind, LTO is available for domains priced between $495 and $100,000, with a minimum monthly installment of $100.

I have done that and, unfortunately, it hasn't helped or was non-responsive. This is something that I've spent too much time on. I was hoping that an active user could respond with a success story. That person might not exist. I've used parking elsewhere for years and have made multiple attempts to do so with GoDaddy solutions. I'd be fine having some names parked elsewhere and use Afternic sales landers for my non-revenue names. Your punitive NS policy made that mix less attractive (as intended).

"Boost" is a slang term that means to take something without permission and with the intent to keep it. It can also mean to pickpocket or commit other forms of thievery.

Right now, nothing is happening, it's been moved to transaction department they said.

Lease to Own where payment should have been made by now:
No payment
Person on phone said they see no cancellation, no email of cancellation

Do you know if that refers to the Jan 22 installment or the Feb 21 installment.

If it refers to Jan 22, then no payment has been paid for current payout

If it refers to Feb 21, then it means payment received and there is a problem with paying out.

Thanks.

@Afternic @GoDaddy
I’ve brought this up a couple of times already. Why are you updating a lead after the domain name has already sold and payment received? What are you saying to the buyer when you email them???

@DN_Hunter The post sale followups are usually good brokers following up with buyers to see if there's anything else they might be in the market for.

It's an effective way to convert one single lead into multiple sales.

I have "Premium" CashParking, only had a couple of parked names and made $25. Recently with the new updates, the traffic and revenue dropped to 0, pretty sus...

Is that what they are doing? I was thinking they have some Bot or AI just periodically sending "email sent to buyer" after "x" time period has gone by. I wish they would come out and say that's what is happening. And why updated a "Closed" thread? Just send the buyer a follow-up email on the side...

I've had many sales at Afternic cancel due to the domain being on auto lock. Dan would simply push the domain to their holding account and wait for the lock to lift. Why can't Afternic do this? Why miss out on sales when this is such an easy fix?

I have a lot also. they cancel LTO only, so i dont use lto for domains that have more than 20 days locked remains. For BIN, no problem, even with 60 days locked...

Hi @JB Lions,
Could you DM us the domain name?

Hi @DN_Hunter,
Without knowing the specific domain, it's hard to be certain, but this could be a follow-up after the acquisition to maintain a relationship with the buyer. This can lead to more acquisition opportunities - for example, if you own a similar domain in the same niche.

Hi @BrandBoogie,
For Lease to Own (LTO) transactions, domains need to be managed centrally at GoDaddy. Afternic's TA team typically gives a little flexibility to facilitate transfers as soon as they're unlocked for LTOs. We appreciate your feedback and will share it with the product team.

Regarding Buy it Now transactions, we're currently testing new features to bring greater consistency to domain pushes, and we'll share more details about this soon.

I sent a message with the domain name. Please let me know what the Afternic broker emailed to the buyer almost 2 weeks after the domain was sold.
