Afternic blocked forum access after my complaints.

I paid Afternic $20 one and a half months ago to have the priviledge of parking my domains there. On and off I have had quite a few problems with their system and have complained a few times on their help forum. Response is always swift and friendly and helpful. Tonite though I complained again and because I had enough of the problems with their system I said that I was going to close my account and move my domains back to SEDO. I also said that I was not earning any PPC with them and not getting any offers for domains and that the adverts on their landing pages are not related to my domains at all. And I mentioned that I would post this on the forums I visit.
So what happens. I get a nasty e-mail saying that because of my hostile attitude they have removed all my postings on the forum and blocked my log-in access. HOSTILE??? All I did was complain too ofen. That is "HOSTILE" in their books. I always used fine language and was using a normal to friendly tone and certainly nothing hostile. Perhaps in tonites last post I let a bit of irritation creep in because of their continued failure to address my problems to my satisfaction. Went and had a look and yes they removed all my postings containing the complaints and blocked my log-in access. I have now removed all my domains from my Afternic account and redirected my nameservers to SEDO. I dont ever want to deal with Afternic again.

It would be interesting to hear more of your specific complaints, as I have had no problems with Afternic at all.

Well you said you were removing all your names, so what's the problem with them closing your account?... Probably more to the story?

No problem really..Just that they immediately closed access to their help forum as soon as I threatened to close my portfolio and that I would make a posting about their continious failure to address my problems. They also removed the posting in question and when I reposted complaining that they had removed my posting they removed that one as well. At that stage I had not removed my domains from my portfolio with them yet. I then received an e-mail at my e-mail address in which they told me they had closed access to the forum for me as my complaints were not condusive to being helpful for other forum members and that I was being hostile.
If you really want to know details about all my complaints there visit their "HELP" forum and you will find some of my complaints still posted there. Posted under the name "Binaryman"(Maybe they will remove those postings now too) Of course not everyone has complaints. That is normal. I never said that. I was only concerned about my problems there. I was however not the only one experiencing problems as you will see if you check out their help forum. I think they just grew tired of my continious complaining. Anyway I am glad I am out of there now.

Well, Afternic always been very protective. If you don't like them then just stay away.

I had good friends back on discussnames.com. As long you talk no bad things about them then you're allright. They're quite sensetive with criticism. I think its an intitution run by few old chaps not by professional Excutives.

So far so good for me.

Binaryman,

I went to afternic and read an hour's worth of postings by you and others. Although I was quite impressed with posts by you, goodkarmaco and wishlister, I was totally dumbfounded and outraged when the president of Afternic, Roger Collins, posted his reply of corporate nonsense and closed the "Why no afternic sales" thread because some of your points were critical of Afternic.

This type of censorship is something that I will not tolerate or be part of. Even though I've not had bad experiences with afternic, this type of attitude...this form of leadership and outright repressive actions by Mr. Collins disgusts me, and I will no longer park my domains with afternic...not because of you and the others, but because of the iron-handed, squash-all-dissenters attitude revealed by Afternic's top management.

Droplister I closed my account myself..not them. What they did was remove my posting and blocking access to the "HELP" forum after my complaint. I was still able to log-in to my account and so close my domains. I then went to my various registrars and redirected my nameservers.

You'll probably make more money with your names parked elsewhere anyways.

I definitely see a very bad pattern here. Yes, he can take his ball & go home, but that doesn't condone censorship. I personally haven't had any issues after Afternic but I do feel I wasted the money signing up to sell there. I hardly have any views & not one offer. I think Sedo is much better just from what I am seeing.
