I am new to domaining.

I noticed few of my names are in the google blocked category on Namedrive website.
had it not been for that site, I don't think I'd ever know I had google blocked names in my porfolio

is this something I shoudl worry about and avoid in future? as in check each name before registering if its blocked.. is there a site for doing this?

afternic or other places do not seem to pay attention. at least they don't create a seperate category for google blocked domains.

or does it mean I'll run into issues with potential buyer if ever he buys this domain name from me?

someone tell me I have not just made some newbie mistake and completely wasted my money registering blocked by google domains.. which are now good for nothing. :)

thanks.

It's hard to tell without giving examples. Can you give examples of similar domains are you referring to? Or better yet, post the domain?

Google may block a category on Namedrive because of monetization policies regarding PPC but may not relate to the search engine itself.

I actually think you hit nail right where it likes it, cause this may well be a website specific block, based on their rules... advertizer regulations.. etc..

I beieve namedrive may be a bit more strict regarding what goes into their market for sale, or for parking.

however, I'm still curious to know in a general way.. cause I'm kinda new... is there such a thing as a banned for life domain name.. by google/search engines.. and shouold domainers before registering a name always check for that? if so, what is a good place to check it?

my understanding is that if there is such a thing as totally banned domain name, buying it is equivalent to throwing money into trash, as it then cannot be resold or used in anyway.
did I get that about right?

regards

Bulk check your domains on fail.namewest.com to see if the are blacklisted by Google.

If a domain which is blacklisted by Google is dropped, and then re-registered, it will still be blacklisted by Google.

@tiawood is correct, in what she is saying Google Blacklisting refers to PPC monetization. This is completely different to being included in Google SERPS.

Domains which are parked for revenue can be blacklisted, ie will not get any Revenue from Google. Since they are the Primary Provider of Ads to most of the Parking Providers, their will be no revenue from Google, but may receive some income form the Parking Providers secondary streams (usually $0.01 clicks though). Since the domain is parked, it will also not appear in the Google SERPS.

I haven't heard much recently about the Google Sandbox, but I suppose it is still in existence. Google usually puts newly registered domains in a Sandbox, where they will not appear in the Google SERPS for a period of time. You need content on your domain in order to appear in Google SERPS.
