First, I would like to say that I am a total newbie and that I have never created a site. I have several names that I think would make great sites and I could use the extra money. I am interested in Commission Junction, as it seems to be a fav with the NP crowd. I was thinking of using GoDaddy's Build Your Own Site, the 5-page option, as it looks easy enough for a beginer. I only want to create one site until I get a chance to see if CJ works for me. Do they (CJ) allow that? Does anyone have an example of a CJ site? I would like to look at one before I commit to them. Is there a list of what names/subjects have the highest payout with CJ? Will I have to use AdSense to be sucessfull? Thank you in advance.

You can also get accepted with just a free Blogger blog. Just spend a few days filling in out with content and you should not have any problems. I used mortgagedebt.blogspot.com a while back before my other sites were up and was accepted...

Good Luck!

It seems there is company called hostgator or something like that and they are the best out there for helping with building a site. I'm trying 1and1.com and it is difficult enough.

Build a blog, GODaddy will install Wordpress for you. CJ is good if you have the right niche but at this stage of the game it's about getting traffic to your site so there's someone there to click that ad. Google loves Wordpress blogs so you'll show up there in no time if you put in some decent content.

Niche markets make the most in commissions. We never touch the "normal" stuff, just unusual stuff.

Start with a blog!

Hello.
You can use the sitebuilder provided by godaddy. This sitebuilder is good. In my opinion, the best you can do is start with a blog.. It looks nice and is seo friendly too. If you want a unique blog design you can visit uniqueblogdesigns.com.Very interesting site.

you need to have a domain to be approved on cj.com if not then how can you promote your own store with them?

You'd be better off with a free blog like Blogger.com or WordPress.com until you get the hang of things. No hosting required. Just fill it with content. Or...try HubPages.com. Google loves them and you tend to get high page rankings if you've done your keyword research properly. Plenty of example sites on there, though they don't like sites with nothing but ads (you can have adsense on all those and the latter is revenue sharing)

Commission Junction doesn't have "sites" it's just a collective Affiliate Program like Clickbank. The latter is for software and ebooks, the former for physical products. You merely register when you have a site and they'll check you're suitable. They won't DO anything for you though. You choose your products and promote them on your site.

You could also look into an ebay store. Join their affiliate program and you can set up one in a free wordpress blog. Probably better to host it on your own domain though. There is a wordpress plugin called PHP Bay and you can use it for niche ebay products (for instance you decide to sell watches - it'll list all watches on ebay).

You need to do some more research to decide on your niche - ie what you are going to sell, and how.

Question from newbie

What should I do first to get some money online. Clickbank affiliate thing or google adsense? Please give a reply.

What you should do first is research. Neither of the above two will do you any good without research.

Hang out where marketers go: the Warrior Forum is the main one, all the top marketers go there and you can learn a lot if you read the threads. www.warriorforum.com/forum

Wickedfire.com is another good one, but they are like the "anti-warriors" and are a bit mean to newbies. Just read the forum and you'll pick up loads of good info.

Ewealth.com is also good, specifically geared to affiliates. But if you have your own site why not get your own PLR product or ones with resell rights? You've still got to get traffic but you get to keep 100% of the profits instead of a commission from somebody else.

The original poster might want to consider a BANS (Build A Niche) store if money isn't a problem. Think they are about $67-97 but you can make as many stores as you like. They are ebay stores, so you must be an affiliate of them. I'm hearing good reports about them.
