I want to start a website for the Work At Home Mom...(WAHM). It will give lots of ideas for at home jobs. It will take alot of time to develop content for it so I want to make sure it starts out with a good name.

I thought about using WAHM + something but that WAHM is not as searched as the term work at home mom.

After searching name availability for some time on Godaddy for ..I came up with WorkAtHomeMomCenter.com...too long? too boring?
Any ideas?

Thanks!

Very long especially being 5 words. I am sure there are better names out there that may be more memorable and still fit the criteria you are looking for.

Honestly I wouldn't go with "Mum" at all. That phrase to me would be more of a slangish term used on the other side of the pond. It's best to stick with something globally recognized unless you are trying to be centralized.

Yes I dont think Mum would work well in the States. Thanks though!

I'm going against the flow here, but I think it depends upon how you plan to get your users. If you always plan to get the bulk of your traffic through search engines and NOT from word of mouth, I think you may want to try it. If you want it to grow virally, you may want to consider something more catchy. After all, YouTube and Flickr are successes while OnlineVideoCenter and OnlinePhotoCenter are nothing but parked pages.

I have a site that is called LLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLLCENTER (dot) COM where the LLL is three words (versus your 4) but is ten letters longer than your proposed URL. I also have the LLLCENTER (dot) version with the initials, and, unlike your WAHM acronym, my LLL abreviation is actually searched quite often, but still I chose to go with the longer URL.

I get 80+ percent of my traffic from search engines and most of the rest from links where the users never need to type in the URL.

Does it work? My site was ranked on the first page of Google within a few weeks of launch two years ago and has never left the first page. I now get about 400 unique visitors per day, and it is continuing to increase. Its now a PR5 site but it certainly didn't start out that way.

I think Mommy.me would be cute if you can negotiate with the owner of it

I would go with a Call-To-Action domain name. One that drives your point or topic across and fit's to the work at home mom & Dads...

Now these are domains that I own, but will give you the idea that I am thinking.

BecomeKing.com (yes you can work at home and still do Great)

iFoundMine.com (as in the niche offerings of the jobs you will showing)

KickedBack.com (work at home, while being Kicked Back with your family is many people's dream)

LuckyHalf.com (The Lucky Half that get's to stay at home and work, when the other has to "get dress" and head out the door")

MadAtMe.com (Because I work at home.... well you can to!)

ReliableWork.com (Unless you fire yourself, working at home is Reliable Work.)

SimplerThings.com (The simpler things in life are the Best! That includes working from home!)

TookOff.com
(so you took off from your other job to be a stay at home mommy and work from home. Then your bank account Took Off and you became rich... OMG, LOL)

I think you get my point. Many call-to-action domains can be Unique and already known terms to your audience. Put a creative spin with them and your off to the races....
