Hello everyone, It's been quite some time since I've been active last here as life and all those other interesting quirks of life tend to throw at me. However I am in need of some advice as I have had a lull in the name game so to speak.

I have received an offer for a name that I have listed on moniker that reached my minimum offer of $1k. This is my first offer in this range since I started domaining so to me it's quite significant. The domain name is a 4 letter name that also creates a well known word. For the sake of disclosure I will leave the name out.

However I was wondering if someone could tell me or reference me to anything that would help me justify the offer price or create a counter offer. Any materials, websites or local sales that may be of some help. I have checked dnjournal.com for similar sales but the categories are at such a wide spread it's hard to come up with something.

As always any help or information is always appreciated. Thanks, Adam.

PM the name to one of us.

The TV sales are kind of in the toilet except to end-users.

So there really is nothing that says "4 character tvs' are worth xxx" right now.

There is no way to give you any legitimate advice without disclosing the name.
I would suggest trying to find the .com variation of the .tv and then valuing it at 2-5% of the .com

Thanks mindwrecker, I'll check it's counterparts out now.

Adam, appraisals are a stab in the dark as it is and without knowing the name makes it even more difficult. Good luck with your sale.

Thank you all to those who responded so quickly. I decided with the input I received it was in my best option to sell at the offer price.

The domain has been :sold: for $1k. My first 4 digit sale which is quite exciting honestly.

Thank you, Once the sale completes I'll be sure to post it if the new owner agrees. Looks like escrow is 30 days so I guess it's going to be a waiting game. :)

Congrats on the sale Adam. I think you probably did the right thing from your rough description. Do let us know the name once all has been completed, if possible.

Congratulations on the sale! I am curious as to why Escrow is taking 30 days. What company is being used?

It was purchased through moniker.

Humm...
It take 30 days at Moniker?
Mine didn't take that long.
I think it took less than one week.
Come to think of it, I sent email to Monte to rush it :D

Anyway, congrats for your first x,xxx sale ;)
Go for xx,xxx next time :hehe:

Adam, congrats. I think a lot of people will second guess your selling price after they see the name, but I will say this in anticipation of that:

There are always times when even though the name is great, the selling time is not. You got a great price for a great name.

I personally would have asked for more, but if I had owned this name, I would have developed it as well. I am sorry I wasn't online sooner to tell you my thoughts.

On the flip side, for a quick sale, you did VERY well. And yes, it will take less then 30.
