hey all-
so, not so much a question, but a story to tell.
as i said in the welcome thread, i'm new at this.
meaning, the only stuff i've heard about domaining was in relation to the huge sums people were making selling fancy names.
after jumping into this with high expectations, i came here and started reading.
first thing that i learned was that in this business, for the most part, the word "fancy" actually means "trademarked".
it really turns out that the idea of using tm is a bad idea, to put it mildly.
enter the nice guy on the other end of my phone call to godaddy.
he started laughing when i told him why i needed to "grace delete" (thanks, microguy) a nice pile of domain names. he said i got in just under the wire, and that there wouldn't be a problem killing them and refunding the money (which i will quickly blow there again).
point of the story:
newby escapes the dark side of the force.
has a few less domains in his portfolio, but isn't walking thru life with a bucket full of apples.
there you have it.
fellow newbys, beware the dark side of the force, and don't be afraid to use grace delete.
