Hello, I was just wondering, in addition to normal adsense, would you say its worth it to use adsense for search? And, do you get the same amount of money when someone searches and clicks on your ads in the search as if they clicked on one of your adsense ads on your main page?

The views expressed on this page by users and staff are their own, not those of NamePros.

I've been wondering the same thing. Anyone?

no. im actually in the process of hand removing adsearch from about 2,000 pages of mine.

.02-.03/click sucks ass when the ads on the pages their searching from earn..not specifically.. about 50-100 times that.

I love it, and get decent results considering I'd have a google search option on some pages anyway.
Also, sometimes simple is better, as in http://www.DesertBeagle.com . Not much to it, but makes enough a day to buy a domain or two ;)
The clicks do seem to be lower priced than regular adsense ads, and you will get a bunch that are small, but the point is you are getting paid, and that's a good thing :)
My .02, very much worth it.

thanks for the comments both of you, and I hope I get some more feedback to. And, Allan, do you own that site?

http://www.DesertBeagle.com ?
Yes, I do.
It's a nice way that takes very limited bandwidth to get daily visitors, backlinks, and PR to share with other sites, IMHO.

Adsense Search just isn't used that much so you won't make as much as you will with the regular ads. If it doesn't detract from the quality of your pages, leave it in.

Forgot to point out yet another benefit of Adsense for Search:
If you want, the results window can open in a new window, keeping your site in the BG.
Only premium pubs can do that with typical adsense ads.

I'm not really a fan. When I had it up I would get near 50 clicks and make a $1.00 a day. When i took it down I started getting more clicks on my regular adsense ads and make $4.00 a day.

wow desertbeagle.com is trippy! :tri:

I try to use the searchbox in places where it won't conflict with regular adsense ads, but even so, I don't view the search boxes and ad boxes as competitive products... Especially since the popup option would let you keep visitors anyway. I don't know how to explain your change in revenue after removing the searchbox, unless the removal improved the placement or the removal improved Google's ability to find the highpriced keywords.

From my experience, you do not earn a lot for clicks on Adsense for search, but the CTR rate is very high on them. So I'll leave them on the site.
