How much does this affect the value?

e.g if I had say shophere247.com how would that be affected?

in my opinion it depends in what context say it was support247.com i think it would increase but www.bobworld247.com would deperately lower it

Well, in most instances I think it would be better to register it without 247 if you could. If not, then yeah, Morphmaster hit the nail on the head.

Kind of silly-sounding.
Seems almost like a 1980's ad-campaign.
I'm sure it doesn't completely destroy value, but it has to make at least a little bit of sense.

Shop247 is better than travel247, support247 is better than shop247 in my mind! In china,shop168 is better than shop247! :hehe:

I've never liked 247 domains. they look to me like "two fourty-seven" instead of twenty-four seven". I think they should really be "24-7", except most try to avoid the hyphen as well.

Unless being open 24 hours is a major feature of your business, I don't think it should be emphasized in the name. Something like domains247 really doesn't mean anything becuase all domain sellers can offer names any time of day. However, something like 247CarRepair might be something people would look for since most are not open at night.

247 without anything else would be really good, say 247.in , but then as I own it I would say that

Usually its used as a prefix 247power.com, 247music.com are some names that have sold for a premium but not as a suffix.

I've sold a couple of 247 sites (247free.net, etc.), so I think they are marketable to other domain wholesalers or the MLM types online.
I didn't break 3 figures on any of them, (All mid-midhigh two figures) but I've not had a problem unloading them when the novelty wears off :)

Nice sales allan and you used 247 as a prefix which is better than a suffix.
247music.com sold for $3,000
247power.com $500
247movies.com $200

The suffix works well for a few things and terrible for many things. When it works well it generally gives you a name that's worth a fraction of the non-suffixed version. When it doesn't work well its worth a fraction of regfee.

Was thinking the exact same thing.

In general it's better without 247 in the first place, but as mentioned by a couple of people before - it all really depends on the domain name, the length of the domain name and what you plan on doing with the domain name :)
