Okay, pretty sure this is in one of the top ten grossest things I have ever done. I mean, it's gotta be up there. I wouldn't let my dog back in the house after she had gone for her, uh, constitutional, because it looked like she had poop stuck to her rear end. On further inspection , it turned out to be loops of carpeting thread. So, I grabbed ahold of the back half of my dog, and started pulling like 5 or 6 feet of carpeting out of her @ss. Nasty.

Just had a shower, and I still feel unclean.

I would make a terrible veterinarian.

Be glad it didn't cause a blockage in her gut that had to be $$$$ surgically removed $$$$!

Yeah. This took a while, too. She chewed up our carpet maybe 3 months ago. I did not realize part of the carpet was actually INSIDE her though. Yuck.

Poor girl - glad she's OK!

... and YOU'RE gonna be OK too - :).

Was it Berber? Berber unravels so easily - all they have to do is get a little thread loose. String can do nasty things to their gut.

- Spray something on the carpet to make it taste bad
- Watch your dog. Confine her someplace safe (like away from that carpet) when you can't. Baby gates are your friend.
- Give her Better Things to chew on. Stuffed kongs, bones, bully sticks and other "parts" (yeah, I know - get over it :).) .

Michelle- One yucky thing a year will do me, lol, I will stick to tarps and domaining. I put nurses/doctors/emts/first responders up on a pedestal; you guys rule.

enlytend- She has a vet appointment anyway on friday for her shots, I am going to ask about an xray, to see if there is anything else in her. Only other time I recall her eating anything was as a puppy. She ate a wall, about 2' x 3' of drywall. there was powder everywhere, and she had the poops for like 3 days, lol. I would get like a 30 second notice from her, she would start prancing, I would open the door and she would tear out into the yard and start pooping, lol, and all the time I was 1) gratefull she was potty trained so well and 2) lecturing her on eating my dry wall. I distinctly recall yelling after her that it, "Serves you right!"

In her defense, she IS a real party animal....

I should think so!!!!

My dogs are smallish to medium sized - I've had a couple episodes of wall/furniture nibbling, but never any of mine eating big pieces of anything. I once came home to a missing chunk of kitchen floor and a fuzzy puppy covered head-to-toe in little sticky pieces of floor tile.

Nastiest things I've dealt with usually involved puke, not poop - well a COUPLE involved poop, but I'll spare you the details :). And I have the cats too - lots of yucky cat stories.

Very good timing for that vet appt - hope everything "came out" OK!
