I have started a thread in the appraisal forum
http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=100206
titled Google com: a challenge for appraisars..

Well the thread was closed before I could add a comment to explain why I started it so it seem that I broken the NP rules my self :hehe:
I say it here then.

Whit this thread I wanted to make evident that very few appraiser are following the rules that are indicated at
http://www.namepros.com/showthread.php?t=82655

(Ok now in my position sounds alittle odd, I agree)

I am new to this board so what I say reflect exactly the impression that one has by coming here attracted by a professional ambient, without prejudice and conditioning of sort and well....
the site is wonderful the people is wonderful, everything it fine and the level quite good , except for the appraisal forum. :IMHO:

The question is that very few of the appraiser follow the rules as they are in the mentioned article , they just say low xx , reg fee, x xxx. somethime clearly even without to know what the name mean, (it happened to me in person), that being so often approssimative and unmotivated they bring the level and the credibility of the np site very down (because the pros after the name), being the appraisals a very critical and probably the most controversial aspect of this business.

Now, someone could say that this is not my website and I would be not entitled to perform such kind of actions but, sorry, I could find no better way to invite my friends here in the community to simply go re-read, time to time just to refresh the memory, the rules for the appraisals.

Was I wrong? Say honestly (I know you are, I have the proof :snaphappy:

P.S.
I thanks Scott that have permitted me to have this thread run for a while.....

Appraisals have been "critisized" before; and the answer is that these appraisals are opinions and are free. Obviously, to get a more professional and accurate assesment of a domain, one has to get it done through professional appraisers B-).

Do NOT be offended by the appraisals you receive, as they reflect opinions from individuals who are volunteering their opinions and experience for free.

Not saying you were offended, just wanted to show the 'free opinions' part. :red:

I think the appraisal thread would've been better suited in the Domain Discussions Forum, since the Appraisal Forums are usually reserved for appraisals of domains you own :tu: .

My two cents :] !

See ya :) .

BTW: Not sure if I understood your question correctly; ^^that's what I got from it. :red:

don't missunderstand me, it is not question of me, I know that appraisal are free opinions, but is the level of the opinions, I have read many appraisals , for curiosity and knowledge and was a good reading in many cases of the past, lately it seems that many apparaisal are given just to earn NP$ ...that's much dequalifing the whole community. Mine is just an invitation, nothing else , I am absolutely not offended no way, I could just ignore that forum...just thought it is a pity and that instead is a great resource not to be wasted. my 2 NPS r :)

indeed I didn't break the rules, it had been occasionally. :)

BTW thanks for have noted and for the nice comments, you're all cool to me!

I agree with your point; some "appraisers" just copy what the first appraisal was. I'm saying some, not all. There are many that truly take time and analyze the domain. I guess we can't get everything :| .
