Give the guy a couple of $NP a week for:


Responding to every single appraisal request with a thoughtful and helpful post.

No more unanswered appraisals + continues tradition of NP being helpful and open to newbies.

I'm in favour of this, as far as I am aware the only Mods/Admin on the site are in the US?

So that means until you guys wake up, the morning here (GMT) is completely unmoderated, until later.

Would be good to have somebody from different timezone to cover all times, so it is never left open to spamming from advertisers, and reduces the load on the current NP staff to have to tidy the place up when they wake up...

Well, I wake up at 5 GMT (I'm on GMT+2) or at 6 GMT (if I've been out the night before). Hmm, that's 12 PM - 01 AM Eastern Time.

i really think alot of the issues from appraisals might stem from people's concentrations...

for example, i'm in politics and online marketing/branding...

this might be different than someone into traffic building and typos...

otherwise, following the automated appraisal script's formula style, i guess perhaps allowing the standard appraisal calculations apply for non-intuitive parts of the appraisals (length, extension, etc) and have market-specialized appraisers plug in the calculations for market relevance, misspelling, etc..

just a thought/option...

Other extensions include .co.uk for instance that would be difficult for me to give an accurate appraisal as I live in Canada.

What, about THREE Namepros official appraisers who get paid 100 NP$ each/per week to appraise ALL Domains in the Appraisal section of the website. Each appraiser is expected to provide solid appraisals, and if possible an end-users they can think of.

A 2nd Benefit for being one of these select few appraisers, is the ability to have the "Official NP Appraiser" or "NP Certified Appraiser" under the name.

3rd Benefit, this would be a great benefit to the community and would defintley increase the volume of listings in the appraisal forum.

What if we took a look at the members who have done the most appraisals?

Maybe choose 3, 4, or 5 of them (if they are interested).

Or 3 of them and 2 newer members.

Seriously, I try to have some appraisals for my domain names when I joined NP. I got some answers. Often very different. And so my main problem with appraise is : how to check the right value of the appraise ? Until now, I take the average.

If we have Official Appraisers, it would be nice a "official" average will be calculated too.

And if I sell a domain name appraised here, I would like to can report the selling price. This price could be hidden if wanted. And the thread could calculate if the appraises were right.

After that, some statistics could be do to know if appraises are good, very good, bad, etc. and who is the best appraiser

I'd be interested in some sort of staff position along this vein of thinking. I'm happy to see the Appraisal forum has begun to move away from so many zero reply threads now that it had been reinstated.

I look forward to hearing more as this idea develops.
