Before you digest what you read there, remember, not too long ago, articles like these appeared at DnJournal.com:

http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/lowdown/2014/dailyposts/20140815.htm

http://www.dnjournal.com/archive/lowdown/2011/dailyposts/20110725.htm (This one's great, where DNFCollege.com is characterized as an "admirable new project." How 'bout that!)

My my my. But nothing, nothing, nada, zip, zero, about the Namepros thread regarding Adam Dicker.

Totally agree. DNJournal is now on my "not trust" list.

It's got nothing to do with not trusting DNJournal.

They are just forecasting (like the weather). Even weather reporters get it wrong :)

Come on, you can't compare with weather, with weather they are trying to predict.

DNJournal is REPORTING FACTS, and they choose what they report. Totally different.

They are a "Journal" but never talked about the Dicker story? Like HeyNow said, hypocrisie.

DNJournal is REPORTING FACTS

I'm not a fan of Dicker even prior to this event, but have not seen any actual specific facts out there Claims yes Facts no
No doubt if the facts ever do come out they will be reported everywhere.

Please, I didn't compare the weather to domains, it was just an example. Anyone can predict what they like - They are all just predictions. Right or wrong.

In the title it says very clearly "Now 13 Experts Predict What Will Happen Next".

You can't talk about a domainer who may or may not have done this or that. It's unethical until proven guilty or even not guilty.

You seem to have some issue with a domainer who wasn't mentioned in the report. If he has personally done some malice towards you, you should take it up with that person. Personally I don't care if the domainer was mentioned in the report. I care more about the future predictions by the experts.

Lets move on now please :)

Everybody needs to read as much as they can on the subject of domains if you want to be any kind of serious investor.
Just take expert advice with a grain of salt sometimes specially if they are telling you to buy something.
I like what Mike Mann said about gtlds.

Well, there's plenty of fact in the Namepros thread. You've seen "actual specific facts" (your words) there. For you to suggest there are no facts there is really silly and a gross misrepresentation of that thread's content. That's okay, because we learn something about you when you state such nonsense, and we become a little smarter about the creatures we appear to be swimming with in the swamp.

I don't know what swamp u come from. Rather irrelevant. In America both sides of Fact are presented and then, only then, actual facts are concluded. Is he shady? probably.
To quote mikenormal,
"It's got nothing to do with not trusting DNJournal" For u to pull out old examples prior to is pathetic.

What Donuts INC said about "an increased effort on the part of industry leaders to self-regulate and disinvite regulation" should scare the hell out of anyone on here that has any money invested in new gtlds.

Why would an industry try to be the ones that regulate themselves???
Why would a company want to disinvite regulations???

They should regulate themselves with the customer in mind not their bottom line.

The should INVITE outside regulations that hold them to some standards if they want their business to not be seem as a scam.

We NEED regulations inside and out, invasive or not. Unregulated business of any kind should be avoided at all costs.

If there is any consolidation in the industry at any time, we will definitely need outside regulations not self-regulation.

Listen to yourself. You sound foreign, not from the USA. Is that a fact? Or is it an "actual fact?"

Being foreign or from the USA is irrelevant to the fact or is that the actual fact :)

Chill out and spread the love!

I haven't been investing in any new gtlds, so I didn't read that part.

But yes, sounds really uncertain for the new gtld investor.

Why would any company do this, more profits, more control.

Wonder if it would be breaking any laws by doing such?

Fair enough. I'm in if domainer's are interested in coming up with a list of progressive standards for the domainer's portion of the industry's customer base. For example: standardized platforms, seamless integration of availability.
I am not in favor of "outside" regulators policies in general. These policies tend to come from others not involved with the industry, and create additional costs associated for all. There are already tons of "policies" in existence that apply to this industry globally.
For now, The Market is who the big boys, investors and end users answer to. Not some bureaucracy.
Think about that.
Cheers
