I think that domains will start to peak faster then real estate once people realize the potential of it. Just think about it, you don't need to take out a loan to buy a domain and how much time could you possibly need to even have a small collection? Just like real estate the more developed a domain is, the higher it will sell for.

was a serious one. The quote is not from Rick Schwartz. I believe Mr Gates
said that before the year 2000, but I don't know the exact date and location...

I also wondered why Microsoft has not bought a bunch of generic domains if
Gates says that they're the best investment one can make. Anyway, it is
possible that Bill Gates owns several good domains without being mentioned in

I would sooner believe that was said by Rick Schwartz than Bill Gates. Either way it is still an interesting quote. Rick Schwartz has made over $20 mil with his domains.
