.mobi A quaint little .MOBI promotional idea

And now for something a little less controversial (I hope):

It occurred to me that a simple and yet ultimately very effective way to increase awareness of .MOBI would be for all .MOBI investors to pick one of their .MOBI names and start using the e-mail account for that name as their primary e-mail address (or at least primary secondary address, since everyone has so much tied in to their primary e-mail).

That way, depending on how many people you e-mail on a regular basis, the ".mobi" portion of your address can't help but get noticed by folks who might not otherwise be hearing anything about it at the moment.

I've chosen "rang.mobi" -- short, emphasizing the extension as much as the name, and it's a nice tie-in to the extension...

Maybe another is to promote .mobi on your .com site(s) on your homepage!!!
I currently do this to promote .mobi, and my Panoramic Photography site.
They work great side by side IMO!

something i did today was to send some money via westernunion.com
i telephoned their support number to confirm code. while i was on phone i asked the bloke why their .mobi address didn't go to a site.
it's regged to them by the looks & a payment solutions firm is registered in the name, it may be them, i don't know.
the guy was very friendly , but hadn't heard of mobi, he then said, 'i don't think we will develop a site on mobiles because of security issues)
i stifled my laughter & just said people have been sending money for years on mobiles & said was just interested as had been on paypal.mobi etc LOL
he asked me to send a quick note to support at their com site, which i duly did.
I'll let you know the response. This is what i sent.

i am a western union customer & sent some money today via westernunion.com
was a little disappointed your westernunion.mobi site is not up & running yet. It seems a lot of big companies are, as i use my mobile phone a lot on the internet & it is only .mobi websites that can guarentee a good website experience. I use www.paypal.mobi , www.google.mobi, www.travelosa.mobi etc
Just wondering when your site was going to be up & running?

How would you do that ? set up your own server and give out emails ? I would definetly do it with my www.Canadia.mobi and /or mynu.mobi
