9,000 impressions/day site with only 200-300 sitewide AdSense impressions?

Hi,

Just like the title says. I have Google adsense ads site-wide on my website that receives 9,000 impressions/day and 4,000 uniques/day. But, in my adsense reports (for quite some time now), it's always 200-300 impressions with a few clicks. Why is this? Did I do something wrong, or is Google just screwing with me? :S.

Let me guess is is it a proxy? Could be that most users are just going to the pages where you don't have adsense. In the case of a proxy it will be the proxified pages where adsense is not allowed.

The other possibility is that you have spam bots visiting your site. Try using a javascript based counter like analytics or statcounter.

if its a proxy your most likely have people hotlinking to pages. it takes bandwidth and goes to the proxified page.
would you mind mentioning what site?

I don't think that your ad placements are the best, and that's probably why you're not seeing that many clicks. Try putting some more text ads in an area where they can be seen without scrolling.

PS, just wanted everyone to know that I am now getting over 5500 impressions from adsense. Great improvement.

I moved mine to just off-center (not quite in the middle). I immediately started getting more clicks. Another namepros member told me about that, and it works well. People might not see your ads otherwise.
