Yeah it's pretty rampant here lately it seems. I just had a reply post to a members comment deleted for 'post padding'!! wtf is up with that?!? And why the 'H' after 13+ years here would I want/need/care to pad my postings?? Whatever..., there will be a one-sided 'justification reasoning' of it fairly or not. "...and the band played on."

Just got a message that you deleted 7 of my posts from this thread:

https://www.namepros.com/threads/best-lander-amongst-three.1155301/page-5#post-7543279

How in the world is it off topic, when what I was responding too, wasn't deleted? That makes no sense. Those were some long posts. What's the point of posting here if you just delete?
Hello,

After reviewing your account we can see that you and other members in that thread discussion had posts removed for taking the thread off-topic.

As per the title: Best lander amongst three

The posts that were removed were not addressing the topic of the best landers and shifted the discussion about specific registrar and marketplace services. The discussion shifted again about staff members at the mentioned companies.

You are more than welcomed to start a new topic about those things. However, it's important that the integrity of topics remain intact so viewers can find the most accurate information without having to sort through multiple off-topic posts to find it.

The post you linked to clearly addresses landers (which is the topic of the thread): "I was addressing their statement that the Lander provider should not be able to see the deal flow."

We hope that helps explain a bit better.

This just isn't true. Again, the posts that were deleted, I was talking about landing pages. Talking about Epik landing pages, GD landing pages, Efty. Again, the posts I was responding to, by Rob, are still there. They haven't been deleted. So Rob makes a post, still there. I respond to them, you delete them. Also, what's still there is the promotional post for Epik. That thread didn't have a post for the last 1.5 months until that post. It's interesting the true stuff I posted, that was deleted, is the same stuff I posted in the other thread, a thread that Epik asked to be deleted.

Still live:

Efty is not included in this list of the top 3. Recently they made a case that they are great because they don't see your inquiries. I want to give you my arguments for why you do WANT us to see your dealflow:

1. You have a backup. If something happens to your lead-tracking data, there should be an archive of those offers. It turns out, we are about to release a major CRM tool that will make that super easy.

2. Your marketplace partner can help you close deals. Marketplaces know a lot about who is sending the offers. They also can be a trusted intermediary or facilitator. This can be a real difference-maker.

3. Leads have a market value. If you want to later sell domains, it is very helpful to have a 3rd party validate that you did have real offers for your names and when those offers happened.

4. Domains with qualified leads have borrowing value. A domain with no inquiries might have a high appraisal but it is really hard to lend against a domain that never gets an inquiry.

What domain investor should care about is whether or not they trust the vendor to do the right thing with that data. I believe some marketplaces will try to sell a bidder one of their names instead. That is a loser move.

Bottom line: the folks at Efty are lovely and clever. However, I think they need to bring stronger arguments as to why anyone should want to pay to use features that you can get for free elsewhere.

This, still live. You leave this up, delete my response to this post. If somebody makes a post and I quote it and respond to it, it can't be off topic, that makes no sense:

As for Efty, I specifically said they were not in the list. I was addressing their statement that the Lander provider should not be able to see the deal flow. I think their logic is nonsense.

As for your other ad hominem, I have no idea what you are talking about but please bring incontrovertible proof to support this statement.

So be it.

We are not sure how your posts are on-topic regarding the best landing page:
The title of that thread was:

Correction: Efty Did NOT Raise Their Price.

Why did Epik want it deleted? It seemed to me because one of your guys was confused on the products, didn't understand what Marketplace meant, what I just went over in my previous post.

Not the same product. Went over that in depth in the thread I just linked to.
  1. The original title was; Efty Raise Their Price
  2. It was a False Alarm
  3. Mods edited after 2 tags (JBL & Rob @ & OP requested)
  4. The first (unintentional) OP post still can hurt t Efty reputation/business ... and it was wrong ... and that thread should be locked, deleted.
Regards

You're wrong. Threads don't get deleted around here, only time I've seen it was with Andrew getting a couple removed. Why? Because people take time to make posts, deleting threads results in unhappy people.

You can tho simply edit the title, what was done with a recent Epik thread.

And with those threads, you can simply read them and see them getting resolved.

And it wasn't "ombudsman work" which is being used as a marketing term, it's about this:

Bottom line: the folks at Efty are lovely and clever. However, I think they need to bring stronger arguments as to why anyone should want to pay to use features that you can get for free elsewhere.

Going at competitors, which is fine, because you're a business. Problem is that statement is false, it's also domain portfolio management, you having your own site. Again, it's not only landing pages. If it was just that, I wouldn't be paying for that. I can get that at many places, most parking companies.

I think they wanted that thread deleted BY THE MODS, because an employee jumped in, had no idea what he was talking about, promoting Epik, then I and some others tried to explain it to him. He just got mad and made retaliatory Dislikes, not a good look.

This thread got bumped out of the blue, after 1 and half months, for promotion purposes, going at a company that wasn't even an option in the vote, not telling the whole story of what you're paying for.

Ah, we're taking about a different type of deletion. I'm talking about actual deletions, not locked/hidden. It was a deletion request above, not a lock request.
7 posts deleted. On topic. Who flagged them?
and more...

This is not a debate, please refer to the following rules:
1.15. Organization. (a) All content must be organized in an appropriate section (“forum”). (b) Posts and messages must be on topic and relevant where submitted (e.g., a discussion thread or direct message).
  • Note: The topic of a page is determined primarily by its title and sometimes secondarily by its first post/message; subsequent posts (even by the topic's creator) do not change the topic. If a topic's creator changes the title or first post/message within the edit time limits, then previous posts/messages will be unaffected and the new topic will apply moving forward only.
1.5. Do not post anything suggestive, inquisitive, or critical of NamePros (e.g., policy, staff, or moderator activity: infractions, content approval, edited/deleted posts, etc.) except in the designated Help Desk area (e.g., in the private support or public feedback sections)
Thanks

You really need to work on your comprehension skills JB. Everyone on the forum knows you take posts off topic more than anyone else.

Ugh. The stuff you just posted again, is in response to the posts still live. So then delete those as well.

And the "and more..." Are the posts about me talking about landing pages.

And the troll post before this one, Greg, who likes to run game at NP with somebody else is still live. You deleted my response to it, his post is still up.

This is not a debate, please refer to the following rules

Yes, I understand that, it's why I said "so be it". I could be right, you could be wrong, but since you're in charge, it doesn't matter. I get that. I'm done with the thread.

Please keep in mind, just because a post contains one sentence that is on-topic and 2 or 3 paragraphs that are off-topic, the one sentence does not override the off-topic portions of the posts. The entire post is generally still off-topic.

When replying to a post that is on-topic, be sure your reply is also on-topic to help avoid it being reported and a moderator team having to get involved to enforce the rules.

Thanks.

If you see a post in that thread that is off-topic and not about landing pages of the three companies mentioned, please use the report feature on each post so a moderator can investigate further.

Thanks,

You mean like the troll post by Greg? Leave that up, delete my response?

If you reported it, using the report feature on the post that violated a rule, I'm sure the next available moderator handing the report queue will get to it shortly.

Thanks,

JB seems to think that as long as he is replying to someone's post, that the content of his post can be as off topic as he wishes. Again, its just a flaw in comprehension that is holding him up here.

Thanks,

You're not an available moderator? I reported it 3 times. Skip that, and delete my response?

Such a pathetic troll. Yes, if I quote something and directly respond it, it's on topic. What part of that post is still live goes over your head? Just not the brightest person are you. I'm glad you took a break from running game to respond :xf.rolleyes:

haha, wow, the response I just got elsewhere. Leave the troll posts up, delete my posts responding to it, then tell me the troll posts are on topic? You can't make this stuff up. That literally doesn't make any sense. I guess that's payback for starting this thread. Let people troll, delete my response to it. Ok.

BTW you don't have to give me infractions, it's not like I'm going to be too active posting here.
