Hello all,

For several months, I have been recording 6N sales from Asian auctions. I now have enough data (thousands of sales) to offer some perspective on the 6N market and general trends. Because the market is so liquid (and large), I have segmented the data into specific "pattern" types which have a large enough sample size to be meaningful.

Please note that there are other threads for showcasing your domains and discussing 6N in general terms. In this thread, I will highlight and discuss only 6N.coms sold at auction (live bids and confirmed buyers) on Asian platforms. I will use this thread to focus on specific pattern sales with short commentary. Hopefully, this will help buyers and sellers in pricing and bidding.

Please note:

1. I have not captured every sale, but am confident I have recorded "most".

2. I make no warranty as to the accuracy of the final sales price as I am relying on the auction sites and the sales reporting site Chaomi.

3. There is a lot of data and almost impossible to capture all. For perspective, the pattern I will analyze today has almost 80 recorded sales in the last 7 days. How many of this pattern were published on Namebio in the last 7 days? The answer is 0. Feel free to add sales that I may have missed or from lesser known auction sites.

4. Sales are in Chinese yuan (CNY)- Conversion guide (changes daily, so not precise):

2000 CNY- $304
2250 CNY- $342
2500 CNY- $380
2750 CNY- $418
3000 CNY- $456
3500 CNY- $532
4000 CNY- $608

Today's 6N pattern analysis: The interior, non-eight "triple" repeating digit (no 0,4).

Summary: Remember, this is one week. There are hundreds of data points for each triple over the last few months. This pattern bottomed in early-mid December at 1400-1600 CNY on low end. The last two weeks show increasing price.

I will analyze the next pattern in a day or two.

If I auction some 6N's on NameJet what is the best time to Start and Stop an auction?

Avoid Weekends. I believe the best every day would be a Tuesday/Wednesday. This way you are totally away from weekends for all timezones! Sometimes people come back from weekends with a lot of stuff to do, so they dont have time for domaining on Mondays. Same applies for later in the week if they want to have a long weekend. Mid of week as start and end is best for any auctioning.
Thats my experience based on 8 years ebaying :)

Weekends don't seem to be doing 95100.com any harm may not be a 6n but still not bad $10500 7m to go drop catch.

I have 606260 and want to sell - what is the fair price right now?

not much if you get 50 for 606260 that would be good. Unfortunately not a pattern by any means. if it have a double 66 stacked together wouldve been much better

I have approx 30 6n.com, no 0,4 and no pattern!

I have bought them at $150 each on an average, what will you suggest, sell or hold?

And I have approx. 50 6n.com with 0, no 4, what will you suggest!

Thanks

Prices have been steady for the past week, this is finally starting to form a bottom. As they say, it cant be worse! so you dont sell at the worst position. Currently you will only risk very little by waiting, I would wait for another 2 months and maybe you can get a breakeven, who knows!

All depends on how much will be supplied! The amount being offered recently has been very high, which made the prices really go down! Now all the small investors are starting to wane, so dont be one of them! Hold and sell in batches of 10s effective July/August. Sell 10 every month!

Don't you think it's better to wait for the Chinese a fallout to happen (Oct thru Dec?) or should we sell before that.

my 2 cents is best to diversify the risk. This thing is either going to recover slowly or going to crash to zero.
Right now it doesnt look like crashing especially after having a bottom formed, but still selling in batches slowly is best! what if it falls after july? then at least he got some of his investment back!
Me? Im still bullish and buying EVERYDAY! Today, I was the second highest bidder against the chinese in all patterns on snapnames, literally every pattern! I didnt manage to win, but at least I made sure they maxed out their bids! So that they know the market is not going to soften further! I would be happy to buy patterns from teh drop at current prices, coz these will still realize higher for sure!

Is SnapNames or NameJet better as a Seller?

People are pumping good money into 5n and good 6n.com's in the thousands of dollars...
Everything has its own racket..Price goes down the smarts swoop in and buy..Then the cycle goes on and on....

not necassarily same prices, but at NJ it happens a lot that I see same bidders for specific names that make me think of some shill bidding in the acts... not confirmed but just to be safe I decided to do that

He is saying that the average sale price for each of the above listed domains was $341. The sales price of each domain is listed beside each domain.

Ok. Are these good, average, bad for these domains?

The 28 ending has added some value, fluctuating market means hard to say what's good, seems ok though

There is an auction at Flippa for 24 6n.com domains (all with "0" at the beginning, and all with a "4") (that ends in two days). While it is only one data point (sale), it will be interesting to see where where the auction will end on these 24 names.
