Hi there,

Just wondering if you can still push transfer during this time with the same registrar when registering a new name? Is this a hard rule?

If I win an auction from namejet for example, does that new account I get have the ability to transfer or do I wait the 60 days for that, as well?

Thanks! Just trying to learn the biz. Any other info that I'm missing is greatly appreciated.

Hello,
from Namejet partners only eNom has 40 days auction lock. No push, no transfer.
All the others are free to push/transfer after winning the name.

Good luck!

Thank you!

And are hand registered domains transferable and or pushed or do you have to wait 60 days?

I'm pretty sure at godaddy hand regs can be pushed but not transferred during the first 60 days.

You could push a name to another account at the current registrar for new registered domains any time you want - but you can't transfer them out during 60 days

42 or 45 days, to be correct I guess :)

It would seem that every registrar has different policies on this.

No, there are two different things we are talking here about.

1. Newly registered domains
Rules are the same for all registrars. 60 days lock on transfer to other registrars. But you could transfer the domain to another account of the registrar where domain was registered.

2. Not newly registered domains:

a) Godaddy case.
Godaddy has it's special lock (60 days also). If the owner's data got changed (whois) the domain is locked for a 60 days to transfer it out from Godaddy. Say I purchased a domain from you. You transfered it to my Godaddy account. Now I should wait for 60 days if I want to transfer it out to another registrar. But during this period I could transfer it to another Godaddy account.

b) Enom case
If domain won at NameJet auction is registered at Enom, after it would be transfered to the winner's (yours) account it would be locked for 42 days. During these 42 days you won't be able to transfer it to another registrar as well as transfer it to another Enom account. Just nothing.

Hope this helps
