Hello everyone,
I see a lot of posts asking for this type of information, and also a lot of posts with inaccurate information, so I thought I would make this available to everyone.

If anyone sees a problem with any of my statistics please let me know...

5L.com and 7N.com Registration Statistics as of 1/4/16

Generic 7N.com

***Keep in mind that about 1-2% more domains are registered than noted here.
This report was pulled from the zone file which exempts any domains without nameservers. Which as best as I can tell runs about a 1-2% average.

I will keep them till 2020, and i will sell them each 1000$ :)

( just a dream :) )
I am sure you have one million of them. 1000000 x $1000 = $1,000,000,000.00
Wow! My billionaire friend. Congrats. Just don't delete me before then. hahaha

One more consideration from the parallels with 4L:

Excluding the great patterned 5L that probably made sense even some time ago, because of great memorability and still being short, for the rest, 4L.coms got bought out about 10 years ago, but up until a year ago you could buy many for less than the cumulative cost of renewals to hold the names for you, not even factoring time value of money.

So the question is is it better to buy them before buyout and hold them for 10 years until they maybe reach $100/each price floor or just come back in 10 years and buy them at $100, just reimbursing for the cost of someone holding them for you?

Exactly. The buyout will happen, I am sure about it. Because it seems a lot of people invested in random CHIPs, but as soon as the floor price reaches 15 USD, 3 millions will go on the market and theyll be everywhere, like germs :( Crashing the price to 5 USD- a piece or maybe 0.01 USD, who knows...

When i asked them about this they said when 30,00,000 domains are completed why worry about 300K :)

Thanks dear friend for your prompt reply.

Thanks

I've just checked ABBBB, AAAAB, AABBB and AAABB patterns listed at BIN at Sedo, and there are just two of them below $1000 now. Just a couple of days ago there was quite a bunch of them. And a week ago it was even possible to snap some below $500. So looks the high-end category prices are starting to climb.

Just like I was hoping/thinking/predicting :)

Were these all Chips? or with Vowels too? Thanks.

Only CHIPs. If to speak about non-CHIP stuff, you can still buy names like vvvve.com at $99 :)

I think these patterns with Vowels will have higher ROI than Chips, if entered at right price. Thanks.

Was the all NPs registering them as crazy from 35% down? Could it be that "Chinese investors" are just ghosts and rumours?

Is there a point registering one with an 'r' on it, would it still be considered "chips"?

It would be considered a CHiSP or Chinese semi-premium :)

Yes, I think those ones are considered more cRispy Chips, and have a bit of crunch to them

But realistically speaking unless your native Chinese speaker, and that is your target market, I would stay away from them, you will probably get some resistance when trying to market to them, as all the spammers seem to now want a e i o u v l n r p q free chips when paying top tier money.

Could somebody take a random sample of few K registrations in the last 3 weeks and check (automatically) what % of those domains were actually registered by Chinese? Is this possible? I just guess the results will be stunning. NamePROS almost did the buyout...
